How did you manage to get the 8350 to 5.5 GHz o_O

The_Rapologist submitter 1 Build 2 points 28 months ago

Lucky die roll I gues honestly. I have tried my exact OC on my buddies rig which has the same 8350 and mobo and I cant get it stable above 5.1ghz. I originally had a 240mm radiator in p/p but the temps got to high. Once I had the thermaltake res/pump and the 360 in p/p with 6 hsp thermaltake 120mm fans I was able to get the temps down. If you wish to know the exact bios settings I run let me know and I will ost them or you.

94 degrees on the GPU!!!! :O

The_Rapologist submitter 1 Build 1 point 28 months ago

Yea .the oc I have on it really pushes that temp limit, I am considering extending the loop to include the GPU's; However, I am waiting to see what amd does with there next lineup of high end cards before I make my final decision.

CPU AMD RYZEN ZEN and AMD Radeon RX 490 Coming soon in spring :-)

ATXON 2 points 28 months ago

Christ I hope you live someplace cold so that build can double as a radiator.

+1 anyway for pushing that rig far beyond reasonable limits. XD

My own 8350 is set at 4.4GHz and that's plenty toasty for me.

Thank you very much. I cant wait to see a 16 core ryzen chip and how far I can push that. Maybe I should move to Alaska first, lol

LMAO, in all seriousness though, we are moving to Washnton state at the end of march so I think it will be perfect since I will then have my own game room (wife approved since I called it my office and will have my recording set up sectioned off in the same room) and I like it cold so bam window open and on a 40 degree day my office should be a toasty 90.....

That OC, that case, I don't know where to focus. The 5.49 or the picture of the case. Awesome! Maybe some better pics?

The_Rapologist submitter 1 Build 1 point 28 months ago

LOL thank you. I will for sure get some better photos. I used my back up phone since my son though my galaxy could float in his cerial......

Awesome build! I am in awe of 5.49ghz, I personally couldn't get my 8350 stable past 4.7ghz on an h100i GTX. Not from heat (load temp was only 60c) but it was developing core errors when benching so I decided to back it off. You really hit the silicon lottery with this one!

+5.49

The_Rapologist submitter 1 Build 2 points 28 months ago

Don't I know it my friend. You are pretty lucky to hit the 4.7 area I have heard horror stories of some 8350's blue screening at 4.2. Not sure if user error or just heer say but still that would suck so bad......

Just wondering where you got the liquid nitrogen?

The_Rapologist submitter 1 Build 1 point 28 months ago

LOL

Could you post the bios settings that you are running? Also, at what speed are you running that ram? With 4 sticks of ram, I can't get any of the FX processors to run the ram past 1600Mhz. On two sticks, however, I can run the ram at a higher clocks.

I run my 8350 on 1.55v to get 5.0Ghz, but that's on a custom loop, so props to you for getting your chip up and running so fast. I'm amazed. Also, what are the benchmark cpu-z scores? On the single thread bench, I get a little over 1400. On the multi-thread bench, I get around 9300.

Amazing.

I was able to get 4 sticks of Gskill 1866 to run at posted speeds and clock times by manually entering timings. XMP settings would not take. This is the only manufacturer I have been able to get 4 sticks to post higher than 1600 4 sticks populated with FX processors.

i shot my self when i noticed that you went with an amd core

The_Rapologist submitter 1 Build 1 point 28 months ago

Why is that? To each there own I say. Intel is an awesome chip maker too.

oneflygtiguy 5 Builds 2 points 28 months ago

We can only hope he is a better shot then commenter.

+10000 for the T2 reference. I must confirm that rendition is quite accurate!
