Description

So got £200 to build a pc after my laptop failed me :(

Went with apu because of obvious savings you get from it rest of the parts were all around the cheapest, i got from the website.

Runs well with win 8.1 as general purpose

Only tried prototype 2 and it runs fine, will try crysis 3 soon and update

Going to OC when i get an aftermarket cooler, Ram is running at 1866Mhz OC'd fully stable won't boot past that and the iGpu is running at 1030Mhz

Got another £100 to spend on upgrades so suggestions please as im stuck have a few ideas:

Cooler, SSD, Another Ram Stick, Some new fans or a new monitor as im using a standard one that was my old tv.

Played some crysis 3 earlier and windows kept crashing after about five minutes of gameplay so put th ram back to 1600mhz and it ran fine after that

For upgrades i think these :

cpu cooler - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005HIRDUA/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

Ram - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B008W6AJNW/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

SSD - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007ZWLRSU/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2VRIWZ9QWTF8F

Another side panel fan - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004I2KGIC/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE - going to switch the front panel fan with this one and put the t#other on side panel to get more air flow from the front

Please let me know what you think

Working with that budget, I don't think you could have done better. As other people mentioned, get more RAM. Another thing, get faster RAM, like 2133: APUs' performance is much better with faster RAM. Good job though!

The ram is overclockable and is stable when overclocked but i am planning on another 4gb stick, as mentioned in descirption, thanks for advice

An SSD will probably give you the most noticeable performance boost in general use but if you want to try gaming more frequently, I'd recommend either more ram or a CPU cooler for overclocking. I'm running an A10 in my build with 8GB of ram and some newer games will get use more than 4 gigs of ram because the system memory is storing information for both the GPU and CPU.

Really nice budget build though!... +1

Thanks, tried it with crysis 3 but kept crashing, windows not the game so i put the ram back to 1600 and it runs fine so think ill go with and ssd and some more ram as i'll not overclock till i get a cpu cooler, which is proving difficult because of the case wanted a hyper evo 212 but just too big so thinking of a Zalman CNPS9900ALED EDIT : Added some upgrades i think i'll get what do you think

They all look good. I really like this cpu cooler though for small cases. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008NZTH1C/?tag=pcpapi-20 Also, I know you are trying to avoid spending a fortune but for the ssd I would recommend saving up a little longer and getting at least a 120GB version instead of 64GB. Larger drives have a much better value and that way you can store more than just the os and small programs.

Thanks will save up for a bigger ssd and looks like a nice cooler might try it with look at some reviews, thanks again

Yea RAM is more important in an APU build I would upgrade to 8gigs, but nice build!

This is a very nice, budget APU build. I would have gotten 8gb of RAM, but other than that it's pretty good.

This is an almost certain upgrade mentioned in the description

Best for the budget for sure. Not sure how it will fare in crysis 3 though

It played well, only did tutorial and first two mission things but it plaed fine which i was shocked at and that was on medium, resolution only 1280x760 i think
