Fractal Design Meshify C Build

by rijsegem1983

Pc is mostly for gaming and internet

Did change the case from a NZXT S340 Elite to a Phanteks Enthoo Pro M Tempered Glass , And now i replaced the Phanteks for a Fractal Design Meshify case, (look at the last 2 pictures how it was before....)

Why change 3 times in less then 1 year ?

I Always wanted a Fractal Case but since they did not had a TG version ,i did wait ...... untill now,

I still have the Phanteks case so if i ever change my mind again...,( wich happens to much ;-)

First reason why i changed ; wanted a smaller case on my desk , i was happy with the phanteks but wanted something smaller,

About the Cases ; phanteks vs fractal ;

If i compare the 2 cases ; ( my opinion ) the fractal case is bit less quality to me, but doesnt mean im not happy with it,or regret it, i really like the case, how it looks, its compact (for a atx case) the tempered glass is pretty dark, but its what i wanted, for the price you get a nice case, and its very very easy to build in, only be carefull your GPU length, i have a evga gtx 1070 with the nzxt x62 cooler and i have around 15mm left between the GPU and radiator I like you can remove the drive cage so you have enough space for your psu cables Since i dont use mechanical HD's anymore , so more space for your (psu) cables,

So specs are 90% the same then my previous Build , only the mechanical harddrive i replaced with a samsung SSD , so now i have 2 SSD's in my system , one for boot , one for games

Future plans ; upgrading my monitor and gpu and that will be next month , and then for the start of 2018 i will change from my good old haswell i7 to coffee lake i7 cpu, wich also means new motherbord and ram, and finally i will upgrade to windows 10 ( yep still using win 7 here.........)

Anyway im still happy how its running now, its not the fastest and newest system but its ok for now and i dont have a 4 K monitor yet (monitor i have is 2560*1080 resolution) the GTX 1070 is ok for this,

But like i say before, the gtx 1070 with be replaced with a gtx 1080ti and a 3440 * 1440 res monitor next month ,when that is done ; the cpu, motherboard and ram will be upgraded also to coffee lake then i will be good for another few years .......i hope ;-)

Hello! I see you have this rig in THREE cases!

Could you add a picture of the meshify c with the glass on in a semi-dark room? I just want to see how much I will be able to see without LED's!!

Thanks and nice build!

Hi Xention,

i will upload a picture with no leds, ( just daylight ) so you can have a idee,

but i can tell you its pretty dark, in the evening you will not see so much,

hope this helps, greetings,

no problem, i did include a picture for you to see the case without leds, just daylight,

hope this helps,

Ooh I really like the custom/sleeved cables, and how you tucked the AIO tubes behind the 24-pin cable. Looks super clean!

thanks !

This case annoys me, it came out 3 days after i bought my p400s :| if i knew i would be able to get an awesome case with a badass airflow and tempered glass i would have probs never gotten the p400

rijsegem1983 submitter 3 Builds 1 point 17 months ago

i was also thinking about buying the P400, i think its great looking case but for me bit to big, the size was only few cm less then what i had before , maybe airflow is not so good compared to the meshify , anyway i wont be sorry for having the P400 as a case

Nice case. I just picked one up. The Rubber grommet/hole you have for your GPU extension cable, have you got any pics on how you did it? I was thinking I might have to dremel/drill a hole to fit a grommet from my old case. It looks good. Something Fractal could think about in their next Meshify C designs.

SlickShoes17 4 Builds 1 point 17 months ago

Yes, same question. That looks really clean, I'd love to do that with my meshify case too.

J4K5 1 Build 1 point 17 months ago

Case arrived yesterday... cutting it tonight :P

Dantai12 1 point 17 months ago

I triple on this, would like to know who OP modded it!

rijsegem1983 submitter 3 Builds 1 point 17 months ago

hello sorry for the late relpy, yes i toke my dremel and i did cut out a hole to put a grommet in, some pc cases dont do that anymore, i just really dont like to run my gpu cables under the card to the back of the case, doesnt look right for me, so i did put a grommet there, it was easy to do since its in a piece of plate wich you can remove when you put a 360mm radiator, so i toke the metal piece out, did cut a hole, and voila now im happy ;-) for some reason fractal dont do that to make a extra hole/grommet in the psu shroud, grts

Hi. Great build. Could you tell why you change case from nzxt? Something wrong with it?

rijsegem1983 submitter 3 Builds 1 point 17 months ago

Hi, nothing wrong with the nzxt s340 elite, i liked the case, but yeah, i like to change cases ;-)

only one minor thing about the s340 , the psu cover for the its to busy, many holes, sdd brackets, front ssd mount, yeah i know its silly to say this, but its just my opinion, i like when its simple and clean looking, but again that me, s340 is a very nice looking case

HATAFI 1 Build 1 point 17 months ago

This is the best looking meshify build I have seen to date. My case is coming tomorrow and still don't know what to put in there lmao.

rijsegem1983 submitter 3 Builds 1 point 17 months ago

thanks !

since last week i did upgrade to a evga 1080ti hybrid, but i was unlucky the card pump was really making to much noise, like the pump was not running ok i did let it run for some time, did put the radiator in different ways, did shake the radiator for air bubbles but no luck, still loud ,even when i play games the pump noise came over my sound from speakers......i did send the card back, so im waiting now what they will say, so right now i dont have a gpu :-( anyway, this case can look great with many setups ;-) enjoy your build !

HATAFI 1 Build 1 point 17 months ago

That sucks man, I finally got to building in the case today and found the USB 3.0 cable too short for my asus strix z270 motherboard.

hansonboy1 1 point 17 months ago

umm is it because the nzxt x62's tubing too long. So you have to put your GPU down there? I am planning on have a meshify and Kraken X62. But I am thinking about if it fit well..

rijsegem1983 submitter 3 Builds 1 point 17 months ago

Hi, i did put my gpu lower, i think its looking better, also for the tubing, some people say the gpu performs less good in the second slot, but i did run few tests and was around 1 or 2 frames less in some games so was ok for me, and yes the tubes from the x62 they are bit (to) long , my personal opinion,

first off.... stunning build, I love how clean it is.

I have nearly the exact same build underway right now

  1. Meshify C
  2. EVGA 1070 SC
  3. Cable Mod (green /black / white <Dallas Stars>)
  4. Corsair H100i v2 (green sleeve)

If you don't mind, can you please post the grommet you used or a link to where you bought it? I absolutely love the look of tucking the cable down and would like to do this as well (perhaps towards the rear though) but can't find any grommets that look like they would work.

Also, thinking about mounting my GPU Vertically, would require some case modding but I think it would look amazing with the EVGA cooler.

rijsegem1983 submitter 3 Builds 1 point 16 months ago

Hi there,

i toke the grommet from my old phanteks case yeah i know they are very hard to find,i did look everywhere to buy them, only on some chinese auction website i did found few, but you had to buy 50 of them so thats why i toke one from my old phanteks case maybe send email to fractal or phanteks to ask them? grts

daddychan 1 point 16 months ago

Hey, I see that you have the PCIE power cable going straight down from the GPU into the basement of the Meshify C. I love how this looks! How did you do that? Is the panel there removable?

rijsegem1983 submitter 3 Builds 1 point 16 months ago

yes there is a small panel (wich you can remove/take out when using a 360mm radiator) i toke the panel out of the case, and used my dremel tool to cut a hole in the panel and then i used a grommet from my old pc case to fit in the hole,

hope this helps grts

daddychan 1 point 16 months ago

Very cool. I figured this is what you did. Love the design, well done.

DrDinklweed 1 point 13 months ago

Hey! Stunning Build. Are you running on PCIe 8x instead of 16x? I learned that it makes almost no difference(1% fps diff.) with a single card. Nice idea to show pc off more if you did do so :)

rijsegem1983 submitter 3 Builds 2 points 2 months ago

sorry for my very late reply, its been some time i did log in ,

yes its running on 8X instead of 16X, i did some test runs, and in best case i had only 1 or 2 frames more in the 16X slot, i did put my gpu to the second slot for the looks.

again, sorry for my late answer,

stratzilla 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

On your PSU shroud, you have a grommet where the GPU PSU cables come out. Is that included with the case or you modified it yourself?
