Description

i built this machine for my brother for school. I love the Thermaltake Versa H17. fantastic case for the price. the only trouble iv had out of any of these parts is the motherboard is lacking some slots for case fans. that and shipping on the cpu cooler, which i would always recommend over Intel's stock cooler.

Part Reviews

CPU

for the price, its great for a starter build. very middle of the road.

CPU Cooler

used this same part in a different build. its: cheap, Reliable, and better then a stock intel cooler.

Motherboard

for the price, hard to beat, wish it had better pin placement, and more fan spots.

Memory

its ram. it works, only reason it got 4/5 stars is because of the stickers. and thats a personal problem.

Storage

I dont really think this needs a review its storage at a decent price, im giving this 5 stars because it looks good. i dont like that it mounts upside down in the build i did, but you win some and lose some.

Video Card

i got lucky with this part. i had a friend that wanted to upgrade to the 1660 ti. so i really got it for 100. Now iv seen this part go as low as 170 before on this sight during winter holidays or company competitions. this card is great but given the option for a budget build i would have just gone with a 570 4gb or 8gb. fantastic card though.

Case

love this case. easy to build in, has rad support. very clean layout. and for the price. b-e-a-utiful. my only suggestion for spending more on a case is to make sure to get rubber grommets. they clean up alot and look great too.

Power Supply

is power supply. price a-little steep for the wattage, but you get what you pay for. if you can, shell out for, at minimum, gold cert.

Nice build although I think a Ryzen would have been a better option. What kind of stuff are you using it for? I assume there is at least a bit of gaming since you got that GPU

well my brother needed it for school, and he plans on gaming with it also(siege, apex, darksouls, other fps genres). and i chose Intel only to keep the price of RAM low. i was trying to keep a real tight budget and i read that the suggested RAM htz speeds for Ryzen is around 3200. and im a poor boi from a poor family. but i totally agree Ryzen cpus are a better price.

Wow what camera did you take the pic with?

the Canon DS126431, my wife bought it as a started kit back when she started her photography business. she has Better cameras now so i get the hand-me-downs. im not complaining. I used window pictures to change the raw images to Jpgs, and give the pictures some light. i love builds on this sight with great pictures so i figured id do the same.

The only thing i would have changed is the cpu , amd offers better bang for buck.

100% agree. i just wanted my brother to not have to worry about ram issues. and with Intel you can cheap out on the ram.
