Description

Here is my first ever build, was pretty easy to put together and took me around 5 hours total including installing the OS.

Grabbed the Mobo, Cpu (and 4gb Ram) From Ebay for £88 also got the GPU from eBay and the rest of the parts from amazon.

I didn't put a great deal of effort into my part choices as i wanted to get it built as soon as i could due to my latop breaking. I read a few part reviews on here and seemed happy enough with what i plumped for.

Overall im happy with the performance for what im doing. Mostly catching up on zombies from previous COD titles as well as entertainment purposes.

Looking to eventually upgrade to an i7-6700 and a 980 GPU as i get more into heavier gaming.

Need to do some cable management but like i said previously i was rushing to get it built as i had things i needed to do and haven't got round to anything yet.

I think I spy an IDE port on there. You know you want to rock a ribbon cable just for the flare of it. Also, I have that GPU as well and I've been able to play Fallout 4 on it with medium/ high settings just fine.

Nice build, how does the ssd run, I was unable to make mine run as the C drive, so I ended up getting a OCZ arc 100. Also you mentioned upgrading to a 980, to to be safe, stay away from an MSi branded GPU as I have had several issues when I come across them. +1

Ssd is great. Boots in around 7 seconds to Windows and have had no issues thus far. Heard the same about MSi and was looking more towards the evga range.

that cable salad tho...

Might I ask why you went with the boxed cooler for the CPU? Will you get another?

Yeah the cable management is herendous ! Like I said though needed to get it put together quickly as I needed a Pc for work stuff. I will get round to it eventually though. I didn't use the Cooler I bought as I passed it into a friend.

The longer you push that management aside the less chance of it being done. laughs

Thats at least what happens to me when I push away things to do later.

Is the monitor good for PC? I am thinking about buying it and I want to use it for both PC and console.

On the monitor for editing are the colors correct or is tuning needed.

I'm being gifted a 2011 PC with this Mobo. It's going to be my first foray into building/upgrading. Any trouble with drivers?
