Description

This is what evolved from the computer I got in a trade for a Razer Blade 2013. The only original part in the machine is the Barracuda and the PSU.

My original goal back then was to make a nice system but that changed into making a nice gaming room. I got some nice prints and frames, bigger speakers, etc.

I can say that I am finally completely content with where I'm at. For now.

Does anyone else see the figure behind the window in picture 3 ? O_O What aliens are you hiding ?! Do you work for the Computer Illuminati ?! Is that figure actually a graphic card that turned into a robot ?!

Ha! That's a Halloween decoration hanging from my overhang.

Or, you know, aliens.

WOW, just wow, very nice. Love the screen real estate

jambii420 1 Build 1 point 42 months ago

Very nice setup. Love the monitor orientation. What games do you play?

Mooneymoon submitter 1 Build 4 points 42 months ago

Arma 3 mostly, with some BF4 and random odds and ends thrown in.

Submit to Pimp My Setup. Just do it!

Real nice setup and rig

wow

riomist 1 point 42 months ago

Nice build! Kinda pity that poor single gpu handling 4 monitors :P Also, how is your experience with Win10?

Mooneymoon submitter 1 Build 1 point 42 months ago

The scaling is ****, but so is every other Windows' scaling. Other than that no complaints. The GPU can handle it. I've got it on a performance fan curve so it stays below 70c.

What are you overclocking the cpu to? And how cool is it under load with that cooler?

Hen_Ree 1 Build 1 point 42 months ago

Hi, I am building a rig which is very similar to yours (same case, CPU, GPU and cooler) and wondered what your temps were like with the CPU and GPU.

Many thanks

Beautiful build! +1. How do you like the scimitar? Also, what are the led strips you're using? They look great.

Any reason for that particular PSU? Not that it is terrible, but there are WAY WAY WAY better PSUs for the same money.

Mooneymoon submitter 1 Build 1 point 42 months ago

I just haven't had a reason to replace it. It was originally put in a much cheaper system.

tiny_voices 4 Builds -1 points 42 months ago

I might consider looking for a better unit for this particular PC. Especially if it is a few years old.

NZXT coolers are a total rip-off. Should've gotten this: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rls24m24pkr1

Mooneymoon submitter 1 Build 5 points 42 months ago

You're a total ripoff.

I had a seidon once, it made a ton of pump noise. NZXT is better.

tiny_voices 4 Builds 1 point 42 months ago

Actually the first generation of the NZXT Kraken coolers were so bad they would buy yours back if it failed. We have several mods over at Tom's who have had Kraken pumps fail. They are better now, but like all sub-$100 AIO coolers, they get stomped by air coolers in the same price bracket.

Jtridin 1 Build 1 point 42 months ago

those facts

Vengeance1871 2 Builds 2 points 42 months ago

They're a high quality product. I absolutely love my NZXT cooler. It keeps things cool and quiet, plus it looks awesome. If you want performance and aesthetics you would be hard pressed to find a better AIO.

Pigtastic 1 Build 2 points 42 months ago

That is true. They are just a bit overpriced in my opinion.

tiny_voices 4 Builds 1 point 42 months ago

I agree. I have a hard time recommending something more expensive than a better performing air cooler.

Mooneymoon submitter 1 Build 1 point 42 months ago

I paid $39 for the x31, all of the CM products were at least $100. The $79 price is crazy.

tiny_voices 4 Builds 1 point 42 months ago

For $40 it is a good buy. You are right that at $80 is stupid.
