Description

Hey All, I've wanted my own build ever since my friend showed me his Custom PC. Knowing nothing about PC building I spent the next 3 months looking at parts and learning everything I could to try and create the most balanced build possible and last week I decided to finally join the custom PC community or "the dark side" as my friend calls it, with my own computer. It took 3hrs one night for me and my cousin (whom I'm helping with a build this week) to put together. All parts were bought from NCIX and I found that their customer service is great compared to other stores. Will be used mainly for gaming and light CADing for school. Also the setup is temporary (especially the AMP speaker) until I go back to school and have a proper desk/keyboard/mouse, which will be provided to me by my friend for cheap.

So far everything seems to be working incredibly. I stress tested with Prime95 for 9hrs and got temps no higher than 66°C on the hottest core at any give point.

I am pretty happy with the Pro3, It has all the features I need at a great price for a haswell board. The HyperX black is actually 1600MHz and I haven't had any problems with it. The Shinobi is a great case with great cable management and I really like the look of it. I bought the 600M because it was 5-8$ more than the 500M and I definitely wanted a PSU that would last. Also I harvested and cleared a HDD from an old bunked laptop my family had sitting around, bought a adapter and works like a charm.

Future Plans

I will be adding a solid mid range GPU once the gtx 700/radeon 8000 series comes completely (or if I find a great deal on a current gen GPU) Also I am undecided what colour of LED to go with so any opinions are welcome. Will be attempting to overclock.

Thanks for looking!

Edit: Just picked up a 670 with my cousin for 245$ each, check out his build here: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/b/DcS

Wow, you weren't kidding about the great cable management, love how you arranged things in that case. Now considering it for my own first build, though I was going go with the NZXT Tempest that has a mesh front for optimal airflow. It just isn't as pretty as this, lol, plus no viewing window.

Thanks I really like how it turned out too. The case makes it all really easy, now I just have to figure out what LED light to show it off with aha

PRetty snazy build, I have to say, well done. Only one thing, you drop a grand on a PC but your setup is brutal, how do you manage without a proper chair and desk? Goodness that seems uncomfortable.

Haha thanks. This was done at my parents house while I attended school out of town where my stuff for a proper setup was at the time. Although I have to say using the amp as computer speakers still works really well.
