Description

My new gaming rig, built with money saved and from selling my PS4 and Xbox 360. Had to wash my hands of the console filth to truly ascend.

Parts with low or $0 are from my old machine, the OS, SSD and Green HDD, DVD Drive and mouse were all re-used. The monitor is about a year old, maybe a little more.

As for now, I haven't overclocked anything yet. In a few weeks when I have more time I will get back to it.

Update: Two new 27" Monitors. The 1440p Qnix has been crushing it with games. Sharp, clear and surprisingly good for the bargain price. I removed the DVD drive, since it was just noisy and never got any use. Built a new desk, and have the monitors on a swivel mount, which has kinda sucked since the mounts are not at the same height. I'm working on a fix, but it looks like it will take some metal fabrication that might not be worth the hassle.

Nice build! +1 I would suggest ordering a back plate for your gpu. It would fix the sag issue a lot easier and look better.

Back plate? Do you have a link?

Very nice! very similar to my previously planned build before I decided to go the mid-ranged 'gradual upgrade' path. I don't often see Intel SSDs, really nice touch, it's good to see them. The only things I would have done differently would be getting an H80i instead of an H100i, simply because both are top-quality liquid coolers and the H80i is a little cheaper; I'd have also gotten 8GB RAM instead of 16GB, also due to cost. It's a great build either way, and it's going to serve you well! As a last thing, what kind of framerates are you getting in the games you play?

PS: get an IPS monitor soon, you will not regret it once!

I've been looking into the Korean 1440 monitors. I may wait a little bit, my Wedding is this weekend and Honeymoon cruise to follow. After the dust settles, I'm going to monitor shop.

As far as frames, I haven't dropped below 60 yet in Skyrim heavily modded. Just picked up Dragon Age Inquisition on sale, will be starting that in about ten minutes.

Congratulations on the wedding man! you could have put a Korean monitor on the wedding list though... there may still be time!

Seriously though, good luck with married life, and try and find a damn good monitor after the honeymoon! (anywhere nice?)

Caribbean cruise, going to be our first.

Every game I've played so far has been been on the highest settings I can, and running steady at 60 fps.

Wedding money monitor has a nice ring to it, lol.

if you are still having sag issues, you can bring the GPU power cables down from the upper gromet/opening to help lift it. Great case! I have used the white version.
