Description

This machine was a long needed update. My old rig ran a Phenom II X6 and a GTX 750.

I'm able to play games such as The Witcher 3, GTAV, and Overwatch on max settings (even hairworks in the Witcher 3).

I am absolutely loving the Thermaltake Core V21. It is small. yet still has room for upgrading (e.g SLI), and has excellent airflow. It would probably have better airflow if I had more room around, which I will when I move out my place at the end of August.

Hooking everything up was a breeze. The only issue I had was the water cooler as it was my first time using one. Those rubber screws were annoying but worth the hassle.

Overall it is a very quiet system, especially when the view panel is on the top.

The only gripe that I have with the build is how close the hard drive trays are to the PSU. They run a little warm because of it, but nothing to worry about.

Will upload more pictures after I do some better cable management.

Part Reviews

CPU

This card is amazing, but I would only recommend getting it if you have enough money to throw at it or find it on sale. I was able to obtain it for half off through a friend at Intel.

CPU Cooler

Not the best water cooler around, but it is definitely a great place if you are just starting out with water cooling like I am.

Motherboard

This is a good motherboard all around. There were a few issues getting it to fit in my case, but this was mainly because of the IO panel. It is the poor man's GENE alternative for mATX motherboards.

Memory

This was just good cheap RAM. Works great with the build!

Video Card

Very powerful card! Not a huge fan of the high temps, but they are normal. The blower style fan will work well when I SLI two 1070s further in the future.

Case

AWESOME case. A good amount of customizability. Cable organization is a little difficult because of the size, but that was to be expected.

Power Supply

Very reliable PSU. Fully-modular is great!

Wireless Network Adapter

Works great! Just downloaded the stand alone drivers from Netgears website and everything worked like a charm, so far at least.

Case Fan

Very quiet fans that provide a good amount of airflow!

It looks like your ram isn't in the correct spot. Check your motherboard's manual on what spots your ram should be in. Most configurations use slots 1/3 or 2/4.
