Description

Main build. Finished August 2015. It was initially a normal desktop from 2005. I began to switch out parts, one by one, until now the only part still common to the PC I received in 2005 is the 320GB local disk! Since used for gaming and work.

Specs:

  • 4.0GHz Octo-core
  • 8GB RAM
  • 1.8TB (3 HDDs)
  • EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti (2GB VRAM)
  • 750W Bronze Certified PSU
  • Windows 7 Pro 64-Bit

How well does it run games?

I haven't really tried any games released since 2015. But it can run any Skyrim graphics mod flawlessly, including the one that ups polygon count in models from ~500 to ~70,000 each. That's right, the rope in a horse stable now has 75,000 polygons in it alone! It runs Battlefield 3 on max settings flawlessly.

RAM is RAM pretty much, nothing wrong with crucial, they are probably the biggest or second biggest (behind Kingston maybe?) since they mass produce RAM for servers and generic office desktops. Also you seem to have WAY overpaid for your GPU if you didn't buy that new when it was released, it would get you a 960 or 380x. As a temporary build while you get some decent money together though its pretty good
