Description

I use this primarily for gaming and redditing. I love the 6870's but they're getting a little old, may have to swap them out for a GTX 680 or something. Just recently got the 6300 so we'll see how it turns out. The majority of this was built about a year ago, but I have upgraded a few parts (I went from an FX- 4100 to a FX- 6300).

The FX-6300 is an definitely an upgrade from the FX-4100 I had previously.

The majority of this was built about a year ago

Looks good! This build exemplifies the way I vote: I don't care so much what parts you used so long as you made them look good putting it together ... and you definitely did!

Kudos + upvote.

Thank you! I think what it lacks in power, it makes up in looks.

Peep out my build if you're interested . . . we both have an affinity for black and red! :D

Holy ****! That build is the epitome of what I hope mine will one day look like. That is definitely one of the most beautiful computers I've ever seen. Congrats!

When you decide to upgrade your video card, I'd get a Radeon 7970 GHz Edition rather than a 680. They out perform it in almost all areas, and it's nearly the same price. Some benchmarks: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/555?vs=618

Here's a nice one for a reasonable price: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/sapphire-video-card-100351vxsr

I think I'm leaning towards the Radeon 7970 GHz Edition now. Thanks for the idea!

How are you finding the The FX-6300?

I definitely like it a lot more than my FX- 4100 for gaming. Seems like a solid processor. Then again, I've only had it a week, so we'll see :p

Wow this is an amazing budget gaming build. I would go for it, because at 362 dollars, in my opinion, you can't go wrong!

never seen the h55 mounted sideways. It looks pretty sick actually. I was thinking about mounting my kraken x40 the same way if it will fit... thing is a beast.

16Gb? wtf is a H55? Why not just a H60 for the exact price, if not cheaper?

H55 is quiet and performs better than the H60

I got the 16 GB on Black Friday last year, so it was the same price as 8 GB. I thought why the hell not. Also got H55 on sale for $20 cheaper than the H60.

Although I hated the look of my Hyper 212 Evo It does perform better than the H55 / H60 so I find it funny that you got down voted for telling the truth...

No, I think it's way overpriced, and when I originally put it together (like a year ago) I had no clue what I was doing. If I was to do it again, there would be an Intel 2500K and a GTX 680.
