Description

My gaming PC! The most troublesome part has to be the installations of the H80i. It doesn't "lock" in place as one would expect and it's kinda weird to install. Oh and not mentioned in the list parts is the Corsair sleeved cables! They're great if you do not want to use sleeved extensions.

I have 2 SSD, but before anyone misunderstands, they are not running in RAID 0. The vertex 4 is my OS drive, Sandisk is my gaming SSD. Both were bought during Amazon sales for cheap. Performance is great, loading times are reduced significantly, so it's really worth it.

The RAM? It's mostly aesthetics. I love the silver top, and I've read reviews on the performance. Might as well get it, and do some overclocking. As for my SLI configuration? I bought Zotac because it's cheap in my country and comes with 5 years warranty. EVGA is not available off the shelf over here so it was not an option for me. So far the card works great, and it stays pretty cool.

Other things not mentioned: I purchased the side mesh from Corsair for the case, and slapped on the 200mm Bitfenix fan, so it's not a normal configuration. It really helps to cool the graphic cards and I would recommend the side mesh.

Nice build and nice parts ! Also I hope these are not the prices you paid. IF yes : you could have gotten a h100i for cheaper and is actually easier to install in my opinion and performs better overall. A weird question but why 16GB of RAM ? 8GB would have plenty as this build is gaming oriented. And finally why 2 different SSDs ? One was coming from a previous build ? You could have gotten 2 Sandisk Extreme and set them in Raid 0 for example, the extra perf is worth it IMO, at least as long as you want the best out of your parts ;). Concerning the GPUs, 20$ more and you could have gotten 2 x EVGA 770 w/ ACX cooler that actually performs and overclock better. The soundcard is a bit unnecessary IMO, if it's for gaming I would not purchased the soundcard but bought a better motherboard with a better audio chip. These are my thoughts, they are not meant to be bad comments but simply to show how things could have been done differently. For the rest, congrats !

Yeah. Those are not the prices I paid, different country.

1) I didn't want the H100i due to the size. Weird reason but yeah. 2) 'cause I could afford it and I got a special price for this. 3) One is for my OS, the other for gaming. I do not see the benefit for RAID 0 SSDs in real life (used to have 2 vertex 3) so I did not get RAID 0. 3) EVGA is not available in my country and the Zotacs in my country offer 5 years warranty. So it's mostly a "suck it up" issue for me even though I would go for an EVGA. 4) I want something that outputs dolby digital and DTS to my Beyerdynamic Headzone unit, nothing else in the market is able to do it. I looked around and most mainboard audio chips do not have the DDL or DTS license.

I appreciate the comments.

RAID 0 gives a write speed boost when it come to SSD actually :). Oh, wasn't aware you had a Beyerdynamic unit, nice !

Well, the thing is I tried it out before, and didn't feel the performance difference. Believe me, if I felt the difference with RAID 0 SSDs, I would be totally with 2x Vertex 4 or something. Unfortunately my experience with RAID 0 Vertex 3s didn't improve anything from my own experience like how HDD->SDD did for me.

Oh no, it's not such a strong experience, but you see important differences while moving big to huge files or while installing or compiling.

Ah okay, that explains it. I'm not a programmer so I don't really do any compiling work. Maybe I'll do RAID 0 once I get my *** on this huge book on the Android SDK. :o

What temperature do you get with the SLI?!

40-50 on idle for my SLI. The bottom one runs a bit cooler.

Why Windows 7 Ultimate.... Seems like a waste of money...

Enjoyed looking at your build. Was wondering how the 760i was working with the 2 GPUs. I have a similar set up and was thinking of going to SLI but was worried it might be under powered.

So why did you take off the Noctua for the H80i? Just curious, Thanks and nice build. )
