Description

my first attempt at a mini-itx assembly.

currently has 8gb gskill ripjaws 1333 mhz installed...soon to upgrade to low profile ballistix tacticals (2x8gb). the add'l 8gb are most welcome.

would be most appreciative if someone would direct me to where i can get some custom (short) cables. the atx cables are making for cramp space in the case (lian li pc-q33)

about the lian li pc-q33: sux that it doesn't have accommodations for an optical drive (a nice slim slot loader would be most welcome); another reason why i'm asking for power cable recommends...although there are slots for SSD/HDD on the inside front panel of the case, the drives are so flush against the plate, the power plug won't clip in without risking bending or even breaking the male connector on the drive itself. in my mind, this qualifies as a design flaw. i'm also not too impressed with the gap above the gpu screw mounts (hello dust).

i can be talked into selling it.

Silverstone makes some awesome braided cable extensions on newegg. They come in either red, blue, or white.

I can vouch for the Silverstone cables. I used some in my build here.

yep he should take care of it and clean it!! With rubbing alcohol and a clean piece of cloth, following the hairline of the aluminum for best results.

Should have paired that gpu with its mobo counterpart for extra performance benefits!

Hey, very nice build!

Thanks also for being specific in your feedback. "sux that it doesn't have accommodations for an optical drive" Seems the PC community is divided on the need for optical drives. I'm in the camp that wants them, certainly for an mitx as it could be an appropriate platform for an HTPC. LianLi could make two versions of that top cover, one with the slot drive, one without.

The dust part is not only the gap, but also the lack of dust filters. This was brought to Lili's attention prior to launch. They should offer an add on, at least.

These tiny design flaws, also the HDD mounting, seem to be legion for LianLi lately. They are very close to making perfect cases in terms of concept, but then foul up the execution of details.

I've got a LiLi PC-90 case with an HTPX board. Love the size, but the motherboard tray cut outs don't line up with the CPU's, and there's no space for cables behind it either.
