Streaming / Gaming PC

Built this bad boy over a course of 8 months or so. I used this website (PC Part Picker) to input all the pieces i wanted, then watched the prices and purchased as i went. I Also raised some money for this build streaming on Twitch.

I Absolutely LOVE this computer! Its so fast and quiet and fun to look at. I will eventually try overclocking to improve my numbers a bit, but i'm not sure how to do it at the moment and i don't want to mess anything up.

Hope you enjoy this as much as i do!

Where's your rad at?

I just finished a build in one of these stupid, oversized junkers and I'm curious to see how others got around Corsair's seemingly deliberate attempts to prevent any rational construction. Sliding fan racks are stupid. Show me wireless case fans and then we'll talk. (sorry for pissing on your board)

It’s mounted above the motherboard

So, intake from the top? Did you mount it to the slidey thingy? I have not found the slidey thingy to be a particularly useful addition, and would personally have preferred more sturdy material for the core structural elements. I find this case quite flimsy, having just finished a Phanteks Evolv X build before this one. Don't get me wrong, I hate that Phanteks case for building - unnecessarily tight spaces for the size of the case - but it's Gibraltar. The fit-and-finish of the Phanteks is like a classic Buick to Corsair's early Hyundai. The Phanteks has fan versatility too. I could choose whatever fan size I wanted (of standard sizes) for any of the fan mount locations without issue. The Corsair has no flexibility at all. I only had a 240mm cooler to use for my last-minute birthday present build, and there is nowhere to mount one of those in this case.

Aaaaand, glancing back at your post with a furrowed brow wondering how the heck you mounted anything other than side-by-side 120mm fans at the front, I realize that your build, as should have been obvious from it fitting under, well, anything, that yours is the 500D and not the 1000. Sorry about that.

But since I'm here, how did you find the structural integrity of the 500? I imagine the smaller case is significantly more sturdy than the fat ******* that is the 1000D, as I'm pretty sure they used the same gauge sheet metal.

Cheers

Lol, yeah I have the 500D and from what I noticed it’s pretty sturdy. I have the front fans intake, top fans for radiator are exhaust as well as the rear case fan being exhaust as well. I didn’t look much at the 1000 series case as I didn’t need that much room for my build so I can’t say how much sturdier the 500d is in comparison. But I feel it’s a solid case.
