Description

Parts breakdown and thoughts:

FX8350: I upgraded from a 6300 to this. It has been a very solid performer, overclocked it to a constant 4.3 GHz and it never gets up over 40c. Silicon lottery winner?

MSI 970 Gaming: Really impressed by this motherboard. Has everything I can ask for, looks handsome. The aesthetics are spot one. The bridge heat sinks get a tad warm under overclocking, but nothing I would worry about.

MSI 1060 gaming: Again, can't complain at all about the performance. Nails 60 fps at ultra settings in 1080p at every game I play. ZeroFrozr fan technology and RGB effects for the logo are added bonuses.

Zalman ZM-Z9 Neo: Thoroughly enjoyed building in this case. It does a really good job at hiding wires, It is insanely easy to do a clean build in here. The only gripe I have is that the SSD have to be mounted upside down.

Corsair H100i: Really enjoy this product. Installation was easy, and it keeps my CPU temps frosty. The included software app is very useful. EDIT 4/10/17 - Pump failed. Sent in for RMA.

Build thoughts:

Build goals were to deliver a daily web browsing and 1080p gaming experience. I have not been disappointed in the least. I can throw any AAA title at this and enjoy full 60 fps in ultra settings. Performance per dollar, I think this build has really hit a sweet spot. 10/10 would CPU again.

+1 for a nice build. Very clean and very well coordinated. Feel free to check out my build. I'm constantly swapping parts so any feed back is appreciated.

Did you over clock your CPU? Is there any bottleneck with the GPU?

I have overclocked the CPU to 4.5 GHz. Not sure how to check if there is any bottleneck, Its easily getting over 60 fps on every game I own (Fallout 4, GTA5, CS:GO)

Hey, you have a very nice build and it is my motivation why I am planning getting one of this kind of concept myself but with slightly different hardware and color theme.

Could you help me with a few questions regarding the case?

About the window panel: How vulnerable is it against scratches? (e.g. the Fractal Design R5's window appears to be very delicate...)

Do you think the mobo ASRock Z170 Extreme4 (http://www.asrock.com/mb/intel/z170%20extreme4/) will fit with your CPU cooler in this case?

What about the noise? Is your setup very loud/quiet?

Thank you very much!

The window panel seems like its made of thin or average plastic. The tint factor though seems to hide most of the tiny scratches and fingerprints.

i dont see why that motherboard wouldn't work, they are both ATX size. The bulk over the ASRocks I/O ports maybe? But it looks like it would not interfere with the radiator.

My setup is whisper quiet on stock CPU clock, when I over clock it, I like to be very conservative with the cooling, and the h100 can be fairly loud when the fan and pumps ramp up.

Hope that helps.

You are absolutely right about the motherboard. Sorry for not mentioning the important part...

You were definitely of great help - thanks!

How's the hard drive working out? I'm not sure if Hitachi is a super reliable brand.

It's fine so far. I just plan on using this drive to install large games to so its not hogging up any other drives.
