Description

Sorry about the lighting on this and the quality used an ipod haha! I really like this it plays pretty much everything on ultra (Haven't tried Bf4 yet but planning on to!) The video card makes a screeching sound when playing games but i don't mind it. I have looked at reviews and other people are having this problem and i guess its not rare for this card to have that problem and that it won't affect the card at all just annoy you. But besides that this is one of the best computers i have ever used!

Ok, I highly highly highly doubt that the GTX 660 will play almost everything on Ultra settings. Especially with only 4gb of DDR3-1333 ram. What games are you playing that's allowing you to play at Ultra settings? Plus, I wouldn't necessarily call this build 'amazing'. I'm giving this a -1 for now unless you start explaining some things.

Are you going to OC the 6300?

  • 1 point

Yep i did to 3.8 and once i get better cooling it will go up to around 4.5 Ghz

I OC mine to 4.0. It hits mid to high 40's C under load with a CM tx3.

Once i up the multiplier to 8.0 it goes straight to 4.5 Ghz from 7.5 which is 3.8 Ghz

Thats such a cheap build! Good enough to run popular games like LoL or CS, but wont be performing with recommended specs for newer more demanding games imo. Nice build for its price, id recommend adding more and faster ram.

Also, what are you using for storage?

Hey how's the Mobo? I'm thinking about building using a fx-6350 for the higher clock but it will be O/C'd. Have you done any OC on this board, how is it holding up?

Ive overclocked to about 3.8 because of heat and it running perfect and once i get a better Cooling for my cpu i will overclock more

video card makes a screeching noise!? return it! EVGA is good about support for these kinds of things, so you can probably go through the RMA process pretty quickly.

I heard its common in these cards for it to do that so i don't mind it doesn't affect the performance of this card at all its just annoying haha

What you are experiencing is a defect called coil whine, and even if it is common it is still a defect, and you still should return your card. In the long run, it will decrease the value of your card (very few people buy used video cards, and NOBODY will buy one with coil whine) and could lead to other issues.

Why change the motherboard? Also, I'd suggest changing your RAM to at least 8GB, preferrably 16GB.

That is true. Never owned a Micro ATX board so I forgot that they typically only have one slot lol. Yeah sounds like a good deal!
