Description

First build in over 10 years for me. Tried to build a pretty fast computer on a ~3K budget. Used for software development.

very nice build! that mobo price though...damn! dont you think you could have gotten away with like a $300 mobo at least? or does that mobo have specific feature that you wanted?

When did you buy it? It's about $100 less than that right now (no sales). Beautiful board, though.

Cool build but I nearly had a heart attack at that motherboard price. For that money I would have gone sli 780's or socket 2011.

was going to do 2011 with a 4960x but that was going to really surpass budget

Who needs the 4960x? 4930K would be a better choice. Could have been a better rig for that price in my opinion, 620 dollars just for the motherboard?! Oh well, have fun!

This is a nice build... but why that motherboard?

TB2

There are other boards that offer TB... It just is a waste to have 22 SATA 3 ports and not use them.

Very solid build, and sexy at that

+1 and a few more if I could!

I would love to see even more pics (inside with the lights on....giggity?). This gets a +1 regardless, though. Beautiful build.

I like this build, i'm just questioning the motherboard. Also, you could've done x2 840EVOs in a RAID 0 config for faster performance. Also, why LGA1500 and a $115 on the OP Drive?

  • 1 point

cant remember what i paid for OP drive, got it at a local Fry's, and picked up the highest r/rw speed i saw, probably got ripped off. LGA1150?,.. really wanted to use 4770K

  • 1 point

i might just do that (RAID 0)

Damn,... everyone hating on the motherboard price, on my 45 minutes of research, i found it to be the best mobo money can buy. disregarding price factor, what other mobo is better than this one for this processor?

  • 1 point

The fact is you got one of the best mobo out there! Doesn't actually matter what you paid, sic build man!

dope setup!! one suggestion from an audiophile: angle the speakers in slightly so they are aimed at your head. optimally they'll form an equilateral triangle with your head, and be at ear level, on some kind of padding (even just the rubber stuff that goes under rugs) for the best sound.

loving the case though and awesome build very impressive

Dang! If you got an NZXT case, you would have like every NZXT part that you could get. :P Nice build.
