Description

(Formerly WhiteNblack-first build)

So here's my first build, been working on it it for a few weeks and finally ready to show it. Renamed it "Projekt:Evolve" because it seems to be constantly evolving lol. I really gotta stop spending money on this...

CPU: i5-4440 (nothing special but didn't feel the need for anything better)

CPU Cooler: Cryorig H7

Mobo: Asus Sabertooth z97 mark s (overkill, I know, but got a good deal on it plus it goes with my colors)

GPU: (NEW) Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 G1 Gaming

Ram: G.Skill Ripjaws x series 8gb (2x4) DDR3 1600

Storage: Samsung 850 evo 120gb ssd

WD Caviar blue 1tb HDD

Case: NZXT S340

PSU: NZXT hale82 v2 550w (will be replacing soon since I just found out it's not seasonic interior like its predessor)

Also threw in a few extra fans and some LEDs.

EDIT 1: Swapped out the 960 with a new 970 which I painted. Will ditch the ugly molex once I upgrade my psu. Also added a few pics.

I love the cryorig cooler over the overrated 212, good choice. Also how is it on noise and performance?

I like it a lot, especially with the "no ram interference". The fan it comes with is pretty quiet which is awesome. The perforce is soo good. With stock Intel cooler I was at 70c full load, now the cpu at full load is at 35c Defiantly recommend.

When your motherboard costs 120$ more than your CPU, you know you went overboard. It looks great, if not entirely logical!

Haha yah, luckily I didn't pay near that much for it (got it from a friend who never opened it) . Thanks!

Impressive! If you ever feel the need to upgrade, the GALAX HOF cards are beckoning for you. They would go great with this.

I know right! Just saw them for the first time here and am having trouble finding a place to Get one, for a reasonable price haha.

Awesome job on this! Parts selection and colour scheme are perfect! Totally agree with the cryoirg cooler - I have it to and also the 960! For 1080p gaming it is perfect! Good job!!

Hey man I really like your build!

I bought the NZXT S340 case and the NZXT LED Kit (which I think you got as well). When I got the LED Kit I had my doubts that it was going to fit since it is pretty low and I thought the pcb for the pci slot would conflict with the motherboard with a cap. Did you have move it around to make it fit or something?

Thanks dude! The Leds fit fine with my original motherboard, but with this one it's actually just barely touching some of the caps, so I put a little bit of the foam that was wrapping my mobo between them.

If it doesn't fit I'm sure you could still partially put it in the PCI slot, just not be able to screw it in.

Willing to spend $350 making your motherboard the most expensive part just to color match but unable to spend $10 extra for white HyperX Ram.

Do the NZXT front fans replace the dust filter? Can the front also fit 120mm fans instead of 140mm (because i'm having a hard time picking between 140mm and 120mm).

Nope, dust filter stays with fans in, and yeah I believe 120mm fans fit.

Thanks dude!

Yeah, originally just budget constraints, but I'm actually waiting for some stuff to sell on eBay, and the income from that is actually going to some sleeved cables.

Thanks dude! Love the case& that bar is metal. The case is all metal besides for the front face, which is plastic, but that's because it pops off. Would def recommend this case. Only downfall is it scratches easily, including the plexiglass window-which I might see if I can replace because it's already so messed up.

But still give the case. 9.9/10!
