Description

Hello, this is my first build. I've been planning it for about a month and it is finally finished! It turned out exactly as I hoped it would. I mainly use it for everyday use, solid modeling, and gaming. The build went pretty smoothly but I had an issue receiving picture on my monitors. So, to fix this I had to reseat the CPU which was the ticket. I've been monitoring the temps for both the CPU and GPU and they seem to be perfect. I eventually would like to add custom cabling to make things really pop. All in all, everything went well and the build turned out better than I could have ever hoped. Feel free to ask any questions, thank you for looking.

Great Build Man. That benchmark are damn near the same as mine using the heaven benchmark at the same settings. Have Fun!

Thank you! Do you have a 1060 too?

  • 1 point

Sure do and it's doing great. A great buy and runs damn near every thing you can possibly throw at it (right now XD ). It is something you will be happy with and won't have to upgrade for a long time

  • 1 point

For sure, I won't be upgrading for a while haha

Even the Anti-Static Wristband was factored into the price

Haha I know, I'm really OCD about things lol

I like to look for things to bash on but this build is perfect for what you have. Like you stated, cable extensions or sleeved cables would finish this build. +1

(The smallest flaw would probably be the zip ties on the H100i tubes but they're reasonable.)

  • 1 point

Thank you! I had to zip tie the tubes because the door wouldn't latch lol, and also because it keeps them out of the fan on top of them.

I very much like! nice and clean.

What screens are you using?

Thanks! Both of the monitors are 1080p 25" HP VX's I believe

It's an amazing card! It runs anything I can throw at it all maxed out. It's by far the quietest card I've ever owned. At 100% full load, the card got to a max of 60C and the fans were absolutely silent. My Quiet Edition Corsair fans were actually audible over the card, even at full load!

What type of desk do you have?

It's an office desk from an Engineering office. It's alright, I want to upgrade to a nicer one from Ikea in the future.

Great build, I have been wanting to get an I5 6600k+ the gtx 1060 as well. Do you think you can link me to where you got the I5 for $200 from? (+1)

  • 1 point

Thank you! I picked up the I5 from Micro Center in-store actually. It's actually $210 now, buy that's still a really good price for it. Here is the link- http://www.microcenter.com/product/451885/Core_i5-6600K_35GHz_1151_Boxed_Processor

It's because I'm looking to build my own pc I have no idea where to start?

  • 1 point

I would definitely start with a new build on this site, and start picking parts for it using the compatibility checker. Also, while you are doing that, look at reviews of all the parts that you choose.

Great build!

It looks sexy as I'll get out.

How is the Gaming 6 mobo?

I have not seen too many in builds, but when you look at the specs it is not that far off from the Gaming 7, as far as features, and is less expensive.

  • 2 points

Thank you! I personally think this motherboard looks a lot better than the 7. The color scheme is PERFECT for my build and it's a fantastic motherboard. It has a lot of features, good placement of components, and has great build quality. The shroud that goes over the rear I/O shield is actually a lot more visible than I would have thought and it looks fantastic. I could have gotten the 7, but I wasn't crazy about the white all over it. If you're thinking about maybe getting the 6, definitely go for it. It's a fantastic motherboard.

You're welcome!

Thank you for the info!

I like the color schema of the Gaming 6 also, and I like the parts placement as well.

I appreciate the help, and if I ever save up enough money to build a new PC (I have a baby on the way), then I will definitely use the Gaming 6!

P.S. +1 ; )

I really like the case choice! I LOVE my 760T, but I really wish it had something to hide the PSU, if only I could find a Full Tower I liked with a PSU cover, haha. My problems aside, great build! Really clean cable work, good color choices, I like it!

Are the two fans at the top of the case exhaust or intake? Great build by the way i plan to do something similar.

  • 2 points

Thanks!

They are exhaust. I am still able to maintain a positive airflow though because the front two intake fans are moving more air into the case (Higher RPM's) than the 3 exhaust fans are moving out of the case.

Such a clean and nice looking build, I'm probably going to try pair an FX 6300 and FE version of this card into my first budget rig, yes I know its AMD and all but GPU>CPU most of the time, I could get an i3 or Pentium but I do video editing and want to get into 3d animation, but enough of that how does the 1060 perform temps and overlock wise?

  • 1 point

Thanks! The 1060 is absolutely amazing! The temps hover right around 60C under full load and the fans only spin up once it hits 62C. Whenever the fans do spin up it's DEAD silent. Overclocking wise, I was able to OC it up to 2062 Mhz with no extra voltage. It's a fantastic card!

which is the difference between the sf and ap?

  • 1 point

You mean the SP and AF fans? SP stands for Static Pressure and AF stands for Air Flow. They differ in that SP fans move air more efficiently through tight areas, like a radiator or hard drive cages.

The AF fans move more air with no obstructions in the way, which makes them perfect for exhaust fans (straight out of the case and not through a radiator). I hope this helps :D

What GPU is that at 11 and 12 picture? Looks like an old Asus strix

It's my brothers Gigabyte GTX 750ti. I was using it until I got my 1060.

How did u got all 5 fans on the mobo?

  • 1 point

There are fan hubs to connect them, but the intake fans on the radiator are connected as one.

  • 1 point

how did you connect them as one?

  • 1 point

The radiator included a two-in-one connector

  • 1 point

Yo, where did you put the audio cable? how did you hide it?

  • 1 point

I wrapped it in black tape and slotted it through a small hole under the Motherboard and the PSU cover.

Do the 2 GPU fans spin together at 60c? or only 1

and did u had any issue with it?

  • 1 point

They spin together, but they only turn on at about 63c. It's a fantastic GPU, haven't had any problems with it.

Hey man, thanks for posting this, it looks great and ive gone ahead and ordered all the parts and going to be building this pc tomorrow. I have a question regarding the placement of the fans, where exactly did you put sp120s and the af120s? Many thanks

  • 1 point

I ended up putting 2 sp's on the radiator and 3 af's for exhaust. I see you posted this a month ago, so where did you end up putting the fans?
