Description

This PC was a build for my buddy who's new to the game. He mostly plays League and Minecraft, but I have no doubt he'll branch off into AAA's after experiencing an actual gaming PC. Not to mention he's gonna be getting 144hz at some point, so I really just wanted to future proof him. Not to mention his budget was nice and high 8-)

CPU I'd heard really good things about this CPU, primarily under multicore loads, but also single-core loads (Minecraft). From what I saw it also had seriously good OC capabilities, which he doesn't need to worry about for now, but I'm sure he'll soon need to squeeze some more out of it. All in all, it's performing really well, and we both aren't complaining.

Cooler This was kinda just a "people say this is good, so it must be good?" Has been performing well, CPU doesn't hit above 70 ever (Prime95). No overclocking to be had, but I'm still happy.

Motherboard Now. Great motherboard. But honestly had a lot of issues with this, mainly due to Amazons shoddy delivery people (I suspect). The wireless is very intermittent at times, which I suspect is from physical board damage, as I've done everything possible to get this working again, shy of replacing the parts responsible. Do not trust me with a solder. The board is great, and I'm quite honestly thinking of using this for my next upgrade.

Memory I'm fairly new to AMD in terms of CPU's, so I did some research and it seems AMD makes better use of higher clocked RAM? So I went for some pretty decent stuff, as far as gaming is concerned. I thought it'd be better than some DELL stuff from work. Hint it was

Storage My guy didn't need much in terms of storage, so I thought I'd at least make use of the M.2 and score him a 1TB SSD on Amazon black Friday. :) Worked out really well and I'm honestly super surprised how fast this thing is. I have a small m.2 as a boot drive, so that's the only area I notice it in, but when it's used for everything, speeds get kinda crazy.

Video Card What can I say? Another happy Nvidia customer. This thing constantly exceeds expectations. Evan rivals my opinion of my 2080ti. The price vs performance is ******* nutty. Let me know if you guys think this is at all overkill for his CPU or vice versa. Trying to clue myself up on bottlenecked machine as that's what I assume I have currently. I think the combo is performing pretty well though. :)

Case It's a smaller version of mine, and he liked mine, so he stole it :). Great cable management and very clean looking.

PSU I donated this to him as a "thanks for letting me build your PC", it was really fun helping someone pick out parts n such. Glad I was able to play a part in his lil journey.

Overall The PC seems to be performing as expected. Perfectly! If I have any more thoughts I'll make sure to add them! But I can definitely recommend this PC to anyone else with a slightly high budget for their first machine :) \

Peace!

Did you have to m-flash the motherboard to get it to work? If so did you need a different CPU to do so?

I actually didn't have to, is that a known issue with this combo? CPU worked flawlessly first boot

Not bottlenecked at all. I have a 3700x paired with a 2070 super.
