UPDATED PC from July 2014
With the release of the 900 series GPUs, I was really hating myself for jumping the gun on the 770. I wanted to play at higher resolutions and I could tell that the 770 was not going to cut it with only 2gb of VRAM. After beating my head against the wall for days, I realized I was still eligible for the EVGA Step up program. For a measly $20, I traded my GTX 770 for the 970 and got a whole new level of performance, and the ability to play at 1440p in the future. I also had added a few other things to my build since I posted the description and decided it was time to take some new pictures (with a much better camera), write a new essay, and post a new Completed Build.
I use it for gaming, CAD and 3d rendering, some basic music production, a lot of homework, and everything else.
Additions: -NZXT red LEDs and expansion slot controller.

I did the Valley Benchmark again, but on the non-windowed Extreme HD preset(unlike the 770 I benchmarked on Extreme preset windowed mode) and got 55.8 FPS with no overclock on the card. It’s not the SC or FTW edition, but it has the same ACX 2.0 cooler, so I figured I should be able to achieve the same clocks as the FTW card.
My OC on the 970:
-Put power to 110%, GPU to +120, MEM to +140, mV+37, and turned on Kboost.
With that overclock, I got 59.7 fps on the Extreme HD preset of the Valley Benchmark.
BF4 runs at well over 90fps most of the time. I turned the res scaling up to 125% and with V-Sync I always get 60fps still.
NOTE: The high idle temp is because I have Kboost on in PrecisionX, so its always at full power. I don't always have it on like that.
I’m very happy with the new card :)
Future Upgrades -ROG Swift 144Hz 1440p G-Sync Monitor. I will definitely need the 970 to power this thing at 60fps, and probably two to get anywhere near the 144fps that it can display. But that’s my goal for the future.

-Red/White/Black Sleeved Cables for 6 pins to GPU and 24 pin to mobo.
-In more distant future: Quality DAC, soundcard, sub, amp/preamp?, and monitors for my hobby of casual audio production with FL Studio and plugins.
