Recently finished my build! This is my very first build as my own. So far everything is doing well... Some parts are brand new, some are used from craigslist with good deals.
Wow, really nice resellers you found +1
Indeed, it is actually based from an original build which was sold to a pawnshop! :D posted on craigslist, but with a busted Motherboard and pulled out CPU.. good thing memory is good. So i just had to buy a CPU + motherboard + cooler at Microcenter with very good deals. Got the video card from craigslist at $120...:)
EDIT:Nice Build! +1 :)
how does that V8 treats you?
I'd also like to know how the v8 performs for you :3
So far it is giving me a 26C, I haven't OCd yet.. how about u?
Oh, uhm, I won't be getting my parts until next week, just wondering how it performs considering it looks so cool :D
Good luck to your build! Enjoy! :)
I love that massive CPU cooler (Dark Rock Pro 3 user here)
We have the same RAM, HDD, ODD, and PSU +1 for that!
Dark Rock Pro 3 was my first choice, but couldn't wait to finish my build since Microcenter didn't stock the Dark Rock Pro 3, I took the V8 instead. Also I considered the RAM clearance of V8 for possible RAM upgrades compared to that of Dark Rock Pro 3.
Thanks everyone, coming from a used (from a friend's) 2009 build AMD unit, :) definitely an upgrade for me!
Have you found any inconvenient with a Devil`s Canyon and a Z87 Mobo? What are we really loosing from z97? Im planning on doing the same.. just curious. Nice Build +1
Thanks, so far I haven't experience any on my setup. I didn't even update the Bios for the Mobo to use the Devil's Canyon CPU. I should have gotten the z97 but it was the bundle deal that bought me this. Good luck on your next build.
Wow well done! congrats!
Any reason why the Windows Experience index gives you a 7.8 on your RAM? lol that's kinda odd to me. Also, I've never seen someone get a perfect 7.9 it's always like the index won't let the CPU get a 7.9 lmao
I have really no idea why Windows didn't give it 7.8 on RAM, for the CPU probably you need to have dual processor to get 7.9, I'm not sure if that's what I read from one post at Tom's Hardware.
Is this for gaming? Or extreme rendering?
Should be an all purpose system for me, not into hard core games too.. but currently using it running virtual machines and some photo editing..
A core i3 could do that. So a core i5 would have been even overkill (But better in games than the i3s threads)
