Description

I built this for aesthetics and some gaming. It was bought over 3 months time. I'm playing Titanfall, Robocraft, Heroes and Generals, and Diablo 3 mainly. So far no hiccups on performance. My last rig came from cyberpowerpc, so this is my first time building. Cable management was a little harder than I thought. It took me around 5 hours to assemble everything and zip tie. This is an on going hobby and will continue to update components as needed. Anyway, now for the parts!

CPU: i5 4690K my research found this to be the standard. I had initially bought this as a newegg combo with a Gigabyte mobo. The combo price was 269.99 and I sold the mobo for 100 on craigslist. Not a bad deal.

CPU cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO I saw many good reviews and a lot of people recommended this so I gave it a shot. Works wonders coming from stock Intel cooler.

Motherboard: MSI z97s Krait When this released it caught my eye. Man I think it looks sweet! Although I don't need a lot of features, it was the only white and black board I could find.

Video card: Sapphire R9 270 Dual-X Okay so currently I only have an old 720p ASUS monitor so this card is enough at the moment. I know this is kind of an odd combination. I usually people pair much better GPU's with this processor but I will upgrade my monitor and then to a more suitable video card, perhaps a GTX 970. Oh, I also tried to Plasti Dip the shroud white. It didn't work so well because it was so cold outside and it wasn't drying properly. I didn't even think about temperature effecting how it would dry. In the course of removing the heatsink from the shroud I accidentally broke one fan. So I am debating whether or not to upgrade now or just buy a replacement fan.

PSU: NZXT HALE82 V2 550W White Cable 550W I got this without thinking, lol. The s340 has a power supply shroud so you can't really see it. I had a hard time deciding between this and the 700w version. I'm keeping everything at stock clocks for now and the GTX 970 has a minimum of 500w so I went for this. It's fully modular and came with white cables so I didn't have to spend extra for sleeved extensions.

RAM: HyperX Fury White Series 8GB It's just white. Not much to say here. I saw other builds with this ram and thought it fit.

Case: NZXT S340 I love the simplicity of this case! It was pretty easy to work in and has potential for awesome cable management (Not mine!). Side and front panels are removable as well as the white NZXT bar towards the front. There is a magnetic dust filter on the front that is very convenient.

Thanks for looking! Share your opinions, good and bad!

Wish you could cover the mobo power cable, looks like a rainbow in the middle of the case. Everything else looks great especially the rear cable management.

That rainbow cable is bugging me. It's a good excuse to buy some sexy sleeved white cables.

Very nice! Are you OC this?

I just did a slight OC to 4.1 on 1.00vcore but then dropped it back down to stock. Just wanted to see what was stable on default vcore.

Sexy build! only change I would make is to replace Heatsink fan with a white LED fan like corsair SP120 or something, then it'll be amazing!!!!
