Description

This is my first personal computer build. I have built a few for friends but never myself. I have spent the last 9 years annually building a part list and never actually building, so this is a huge deal for me. I spent a whole lot of time camping for sales on the components i wanted. I initially wanted to do a yellow/black build but was quickly sold on white/black by a few previous posters. I LOVE this computer and the SSD has changed my life. I also love being able to play my games over low! First time powering this guy on scared me because nothing makes noise in it and i had the LED's turned off so i didn't think it was working until my monitor turned on. My old computer ran so loud i had to turn it off if i wanted to watch TV.

Unfortunately I haven't yet purchased a graphics card. I'm borrowing my friends old GTX 660, and i'm either going to buy an aftermarket 480 or get a 970/1060 down the road.

CPU

This thing is great! I have yet to overclock it, but it runs everything i need it to without an issue. I got it from jet and was a little concerned, but it was a great buy.

CPU COOLER

Again, great purchase! I was initially going to go with the 212 Evo but a few people lead me to Cryorig and I absolutely love this thing. It is beautiful and 100% silent. The only complaint that i have is the x-bar mounting system. It was easy and convenient but I wasn't too sure if it was right because i didn't know if the x-bar actually locked in place or if i just screw them in floppy. I ended up screwing it in floppy and haven't had an issue. Also i had to move the fan up a few splines of the cooler to clear the heat sink on the MOBO.

MOTHERBOARD

I could not decided between this or the Asus z170-a. It literally took me about 2 weeks to finally decide with the help of the krait going on sale. Have to say, no complaints and I love the aesthetics. The UEFI was super easy to use and navigate and allows super easy overclocks and XMP profiles.

STORAGE

I have never had an SSD and it has changed my life. Other than that, it's storage.

GPU

I am currently using an old GTX 660 from my friend when he upgraded to the 970. It is running everything i need it to at 1080P 60+ FPS on high or ultra so i'm content waiting to grab a 480 or 1060 or something along those lines.

CASE

I almost bought the black version of this case and is what I had my eye on for a long time. However, the white went on sale and I started looking at it and thought it would better for the white/black build to have a white/black case instead of just black. Also, my wife liked it more. Cable management was a breeze!

PSU

I know that this PSU is way overkill, but it was an impulse buy that started this whole thing and I have to say that i absolutely love it!The fluid dynamic bearing with the zeroRPM mode really helps with the noise. I'm not kidding when I say you cannot hear any noise coming from my computer.

OS

I actually have Windows 10 Enterprise which I got through Dreamspark. Having more freedom with windows 10 update and network options is quite nice.

RAM

I had a really hard time deciding between vengence or HyperX Fury. I wanted the 2666 but the vengence sale ended before i pulled the trigger and the HyperX went on sale shortly after. I can't complain, it is RAM and does its job nicely.

Nice job on this pc. I reccomend waiting another few weeks for the 1060 custom cards and benchmarks before buying your gpu.

Thank You! I most certainly will be waiting for aftermarket cards. I think it's going to be between the 1060 and the 480, but the 970's are getting pretty low from private sellers. saw one for 175 the other day.

Nice build because a few days ago I bought similar parts, however I went with CM EVO 212x on my 6600k. :D You give me a slight preview of how my pc will look like. And I'm waiting on RX480 aftermarket GPUs as well, so currently I'm "gpu-less". Will share my build once I've collected all the remaining parts.
