Description

Finally decided that a full tower was no longer an option due to issues with portability. I mainly use this for school work and gaming. Luckily the GTX 770 SC 2gb was able to fit in the case, had issues with wires hitting the fans at first, but it was all sorted out eventually.

Switching from the AMD FX8350 8 core 4.0GHz to the Intel 4770k is a major improvement. The boot time was significantly improved and applications open/close/run a lot smoother.

The total price was no where near what parts list shows. On a side note, the windows experience score is 7.8, the processor and ssd got a 7.8, RAM and GPU got a 7.9.

Amazing pc! Is building in that ase really as hard as people say?

For a mITX case it's very easy.

Indeed. That is probably the largest mITX case out there.

The only issue with building in such a small case would have to be the power supply installation. I had to modify the bottom hard drive tray in order to allow 2 addition power plugs to be ran through. Other than that, it wasn't too difficult.

You can manually add the prices you paid for each item. Nice build, btw. +1

Very nice. Ever since I built a similar system in an HTPC form factor I've wanted to rebuild it as a mini ITX. I was initially stunned by how much you paid for the GTX 770, but then I realized that you are from the mystical land of Canadia.

One of these days I'm going to do it, but the case needs to be less than 12" deep. SO, Lian-Li for me. Hopefully I do half as nice a job.

Thanks for all the positive feedback everyone. @hartjo1, the 770 is the 2gb superclocked model with the acx cooler which was 409+ Canadian taxes (13%). This is excluding the $10 mail in rebate card.

Thanks. I almost bought the same card but found that it was too long for my case. Bought the MSI Gaming variant and have been extremely happy with its performance.

I guess it's no big deal, but just curious why you left out the rear plate that goes above the GPU. Other than that everything looks good.

It was actually fairly difficult to get both screws on even without that plate. So I just left it off for now.

Great looking build! I'm looking at doing something similar with an i7 4770k and a CM Hyper 212 Evo cooler. How loud is your PC with this build, and is the CM 212 Evo keeping the i7 cool enough?

It's a huge improvement over my two gtx 550 ti's nearly getting 4x the frame rates than before. On Arma 3 with everything on ultra and a 3km view distance, getting a constant 30fps.
