Description

My friend was in great need of a new computer, we had a really tight budget of $400 and what better time to get great deals other than on Black Friday?

Upgrading from my friends six year old HP desktop computer which he paid more than triple for back then. He immediately felt a huge performance increase.

He wouldn't be able to run Starcraft II on lowest settings without choppy graphics and lag and now he runs maxed out on ultra settings with 90fps on 1680x1050 monitor.

I couldn't find the case we bought in the list so I just added it to custom parts (possibly because its discontinued?) The case was on sale for $50 from its original price of $100 which is a steal! The case comes with 2 x140mm intake fans and 1 x 120mm rear exhaust fan.

Tell me what you guys think! :)

Thanks lol! Yeah we planned it for a couple months and we were really considering an HD7770 but my friend didn't have the extra $30 that was needed for the upgrade from an HD7750. Overall the HD7750 is more than sufficient for his gaming needs, he's not much into main stream games more old school.

Really nice for $400. Like 5 times better then my $500 dollar laptop.

Thank you! Desktops are always cheaper in comparison to laptops for the same components.

I heard that CPU works really great in Starcraft II, so good job. BTW, what do you think of that case? I see Lian Li cases on Newegg selling for $100+ and they look pretty simple. You think they're worth $100 bucks?

Also, that motherboard looks pretty hilarious in there. No offense :)

Lmao the motherboard look does hilarious in there :p

Anyway Lian-Li and Silverstone make one of the best cases that are quality built, sturdy, have sufficient cooling and very simple design.

I personally have a Silverstone TJ07 with side panel window and I'm very happy with it, I have to admit it was very expensive but it looks very sleek and my components look fantastic inside it.

It's all personal opinion and how much you want to drop on a case. All I know is I've owned the TJ07 for 5 years now and it looks brand new and its built very well It'd survive a nuclear war lmao while some other cases such as rosewill look really cheap and that I could crush it with my base hands...

I am building a computer for a coworker. I was wondering if this runs most games out there nicely such as Assassin's Creed III?

I cannot say since my friend doesnt play Assassin's Creed 3 but from the system requirements the the build above shouldnt have a problem running AC3.

As mentioned above I would recommend you upgrading the graphic card to a HD7770. It's obly $30 more the reason we did not go with it because my friend was on a very tight budget.

Look at the motherboard specs for that kind of question. The answer is yes it is compatible

Looking to build a budget system for my first build that can still handle intense games (according to www.game-debate.com this build could run battlefield 4 at medium to high settings) and this may be the best candidate so far!

I'm glad my build has inspired you to build your own similar budget build :p If you can afford it I would upgrade the processor to an i3 with an HD7770
