Description

Well I wanted to have a decent gaming rig, and now I have it! Took me four hours to build, and 2 months to save up the money.

The PSU is a little low on wattage, but I am upgrading soon.

I would have gone with one of the new AMD cards, but this is still a pretty awesome rig.

Actually I ordered the parts 2 weeks before the new AMD's came out unfortunately. I was waiting for them, but didn't have a release date for the new cards. Isn't too much of a difference.

No problems with it so far. I love it and it has a sick design.

Good build but seems like you overpaid a bit on the GPU, you can pick the 7970 up for around 230

lol where are you buying one? .-.

Wtf? Where did you see a 7970 for 230?? I think you mistook the 7970 for a 7950.

There are no places in the states that are selling 7970s for under $300+

Ah I'm sorry guys I mistook this for British pounds, my mistake!!!

Sick build bud, sweet case. I have the same GPU and it's a beast and overclocks very nicely.

I would clean up the cables a bit maybe when you get the new power supply

There really isn't much clutter in the front. I might manage it some in the back, but really it isn't hindering anything.

Yes, a 7970 can be bought for £230; I've even seen some at £200, but that was an Overclockers special offer.

Anyways, nice build!

Never said there was, I'm assuming that MahimulH is talking in terms of sterling pounds seeming the build listed here is British.

oddly the build I'm looking at is listed in USD and has no indication of being British. Did I miss something in the description or a photo indicating differently?

I've been led to believe that Aria & Scan are UK based, and apparently several parts were bought from those sites. The video card was also apparently purchased from Amazon UK at £301.73.

apparently it is displaying USA sales locations and prices to me and UK sales locations and prices to you - interesting. example of a build that does show me non USA prices: http://pcpartpicker.com/b/GHV

Actually it's in USD, but it may appear british to those in the UK

Awesome build bro! one question though, why din't you get an amd-fx 8350 cpu rather than the i5?

  • 1 point

The i5 is a bit faster in all kinds of programs so I chose it. The price performance ratio is better in the amd, but I just really didn't mind. I kinda like i5's better anyways.

Fellow Intel fanboy here. TheAlchemistLlama is one of my best friends and he really does enjoy his price-performance ratios, but Intel performs better. An i7 isn't worth the extra $100 unless you're rendering. I have a 3570k in my current build. Have you overclocked your 4670k? I really regret getting my 3570k since I haven't overclocked yet, I should've just gone with the 3570.

I love the CPU/GPU setup you have! Great job!

EDIT: I stated that I would be getting a new PSU, but I'm actually planning on keeping the current one for awhile. I have not encountered any problems or malfunctions with my 500w.
