Description

Used For:

Gaming, Video Streaming, Video/Picture Editing, School Office Processing, Home Entertainment (Music, Movies)

Reason for construction:

I built this machine to take advantage of surrounding technology I already had(50mbps internet, 47inch Vizio 1080p display, and Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 THX Certified speaker system)

Throw this computer into the mix and I've got quite the all in one box sitting under my desk. Threw the graphics card in there to skip this generation of console wars cough, snores.

Got windows 7 for free through my University

Problems:

Mother Board only came with 2 Sata cables, needed 3 Didn't enter system time correctly in BIOS, resulted in certificate errors when accessing the internet for the first time. Cheaped out on a wireless keyboard which I will be returning. (Added to the list of absolute rules, Never go cheap on a keyboard)

Not a bad partlist, would love to see some interior pics. And on an unrelated note, do you actually game that close to that giant tv?

I have a SATA cable on the way to connect my 500gb hard drive, Ill take that opportunity to snap a few pics. Blue/Red interior

As far as gaming on this TV, I really do. I am a big sloucher so I am able to get a decent distance from the screen lol. Not for leaners id say.

Nothing wrong with that, i use a 42" plasma as my main monitor, and yes the secret is moving away from the desk.

Ambient lighting saves the day!

It's really no different than any other monitor, I make the text bigger on all websites and its perfect.

Nice part list, I'd like to see some internal pics too. I'm digging that Klipsch 2.1 that is a very fun audio setup, wicked bass great for games with plenty of explosions and/or gunshots :)

+1

A LED TV can be a great substitute for a monitor for multiple reasons

  1. Streaming movies/tv shows
  2. Large simulation/photo editing/ modeling software (larger work space, bigger detail)
  3. Casual Gaming from a couch or bed with a controller just like a console
  4. Hardcore FPS gaming, easier to identify long range targets as they appear bigger
  5. Dual purpose existing TV as a monitor rather than buying a purpose specific screen
  6. Its bad ***.
