Built this to be a gaming rig and/or something that should last my family a little while. It was fun putting it together, as it was my kids first build ever. My son, who was very excited, helped out a lot.
I wish I could have built my computer with my parents, but instead they were just amazed that I could do it. Anyways, great build, and keep up the great work with everything!
I was a bit older than your son when my dad first started putting together computers. That was awhile ago and I've learned a lot since then, but I wish I'd have appreciated it more and got more involved, rather than just waiting for it and playing with it when he was done.
It's not just a fun project, it's applicable. When he's older and goes to college and moves out, a skill like that will be invaluable.
great build! i like how your son helped you out. it's important to teach the younger generation how to build computers. i wish my dad helped me out like that. he'll have a great time playing that computer. keep teaching him as it will be a good skill to have when he gets older.
Thanks for the comments! I was very glad to have my son help. I'm not sure why the pics are so small. So far everything is working well. I have been contemplating adding more fans a though. Idle temps are at 30c and full load is average 55c. Anyone with a nzxt phantom 410 recommend where to put additional fans or are my temps good as is?
A great thing about building a machine like this is you can continually upgrade components unlike a "big box store Dell" , and a good case like that will be around for years with various changes inside.
Don't tell to many friends that you and your son built it or you will have to get a T-shirt like my wife got me , it says:
LOL. That made my morning. Although MY dad has one of those t-shirts. He also has one about binary. "There are only 10 types of people in this world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't."
