Description

Hi all,

Welcome to my second build Winter has come... , i built this back in April and didn't get a chance to upload it to pcpartpicker :/ . This system is used primarily for gaming but also for admin work and programming. I built the system around a winter theme in light of the new/current season of Game of Thrones with also a hint of RGB to spruce the colour from time to time. It is a massive upgrade from my previous machine that didn't have enough kick when it came to the latest demanding games that are currently out. Why I choose the following important parts:

Intel i7 6700K

I choose the 6700K because I already bought it before Kaby lake came out :/ , but its still a great performer so its grand :)

NZXT Kraken X62

Got it over others to match my theme and also because it got great reviews, painted the radiator white to go with the rest of theme :)

Asus Sabertooth Z170 S

As soon as seen this board i wanted it straight away, it was hard to get at the time but i managed to acquire the last one on amazon :), doesn't have fancy rgb but still looks fantastic!

Samsung 850 EVO 1TB

Got it over a m.2 because of price as it was cheaper than the 960 EVO at the time, super fast has my OS and some games on it

GALAX GTX 1080 HOF

This card is massive!! and also a beast :) got it to match my theme and also because it is a excellent card barley fitted in my case!

NZXT S340 Elite

Love the tempered glass and additional ssd trays, improved on a already great case and also comes in white ;) , only problem with this case is the airflow is not the best and primary aimed towards liquid coolers.

Dell S2716DG

Brilliant monitor with excellent Dell QC , image is sharp and colours are great for a TN Panel. Gsync and 144HZ make it an almost perfect monitor.

IKBC Z87 RBG

Brilliant keyboard with RGB and cherry browns, tried to get a ducky shine 6 snow edition but they were sold out everywhere.

Ensourced custom sleeved cables

Could not recommend them enough! , excellent custom cables and were perfect for my build.

I hope you like my build and i hope to do more future builds, including a Custom liquid set-up when I have the time and money :) hope all of you are enjoying the new Game of Thrones season so far! :)

Remember the long night is coming...

Looks unreal! I reccomend cable mods new AIO sleeving. You can get it in White and it is compatible with the Kraken X62.

How many Whitewalkers does it take to build a PC for you?

None, you just get killed.

+1

Been thinking about getting the s370 elite. Thoughts after building in it? besides what you put in part review? thanks in advance!:)

Solid looks, great dust filtration (i bought a additional dust filter for the top intake), cable management is good lots of room , can fit three 2.5'' drives and a further two 3.5'' drives. Only grip i have is about this case is the airflow is not the best for air coolers and the lack of fan mounts.

JaydeeColclough 1 point 6 months ago

How rich are you

JonezyBigby submitter 2 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

Actually not, just worked and saved hard :)

AmirMo 1 Build 1 point 6 months ago

The HoF card is just insanely beautiful. 1+

JonezyBigby submitter 2 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

She's a beut! :)

CreepyPro 1 point 6 months ago

How much did you pay for the HoF GPU? Last time i checked the were overpriced

JonezyBigby submitter 2 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

575 it was on offer at the time

kellyj6 1 point 6 months ago

Great looking build! Any thoughts about removing the TG sticker?

JonezyBigby submitter 2 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

mmm.. i suppose i better! :P

kellyj6 1 point 6 months ago

Do you have the Hue+ in a 3.5" drive slot hidden away? Also did the LED strips work out of the box or did you need to have CAM before they powered on?

JonezyBigby submitter 2 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

Yes i put the hue in the spare 3.5'' bay to reduce cable clutter, yes you need the Hue+ to power on the leds

kellyj6 1 point 6 months ago

Thanks, but I did not mean that. I have the Hue+ and AER120. Everything is plugged in and the AER120's are lit but the LED strips wont light up. I do not have the OS installed yet because I ran out of time.

I am hoping this is happening because you need the software to run both channels. Did you experience this too?

Also you're not bummed out about losing that sweet LED on the HUE+?

TheMightestOfUsAll 1 point 6 months ago

Wait wait wait... did you plasti dip the radiator? +1 btw

JonezyBigby submitter 2 Builds 2 points 6 months ago

No i used engine enamel on the outside of the radiator and didnt paint fins , thanks :)

Jäßßäwöçkëë 2 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

Great build bro! Also I love Joey @ Ensourced! He does amazing cables and I will only buy from them.

JonezyBigby submitter 2 Builds 2 points 6 months ago

Yeah i could'nt praise him enough!

Jäßßäwöçkëë 2 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

agreed! I ALWAYS send people who ask about cables his way. About to place another order myself actually

Cloudsith 1 point 6 months ago

Beautiful build but.. Damn thats a huge 1080... Lol all in all nice work +1

JonezyBigby submitter 2 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

Yes only a few mm of room between it and the radiator!

Cloudsith 1 point 6 months ago

Wow! I thought my Strix 1080 was big. Im actually putting a nzxt kraken g12 bracket and a corsair h55 on my strix. Waiting to see how that turns out

JonezyBigby submitter 2 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

Yeah I thought of doing that myself! I will wait and see what temps are like after overclocking

karltbui 2 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

That HOF card is the Night King's Ice Dragon! Where did you buy that GPU? I cannot find it here in the US?

JonezyBigby submitter 2 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

:) Oh i got it in europe

JukeFactory 1 point 5 months ago
