Description

I have been wanting to build a computer for a very long time. After years of trolling this site and committing to by purchasing two Asus monitors over a year and a half ago I decided to actually finalize the deal and spend the bucks.

Honestly I really wanted to copy a build I instantly fell in love with about a week ago and received permission to copy him. After the anxiety started coursing through my veins I decided to got to my friendly Fry's and pick up all the parts from there... Bad Idea. I purchased a corsair 105 gt only to notice that it was open and damaged, then I opened my PNY SSD only to realize it had already been opened also. After a day of struggling to get hardware that actually worked I finally completed my build. I think she is quite sexy.

I really wanted an i7, but honestly I felt it would do me better if I went with an i5 and got a better GPU. My budget was a little over $1000. I went with the EVGA 970 FTW because it had good reviews on pcpartpicker. Went with an RM 650i because it isn't a cx and I didn't want a forum filled with the CX police. Thermaltake V21 was impulse and I came to be very happy with that. I felt it was cheap at first but now after building it I think it is one of the better cases I have seen. Lots of options when positioning the window it looks great and i can see how positive pressure can easily be applied tp this machine. Vents have magnet filters to be easily cleaned and overall it is very quiet.

It's named the Ginga Ninja because I really wanted a red, b;lack and silver theme. I wanted to add some red cabling but I heard of horror stories of SSD's blowing up because of the voltage difference in the cables so I am afraid to put my red PCIe cables on my GPU (clarify if I am incorrect).

Please feel free to comment on any noob mistakes i made or leave a compliment

Did your cat build the computer?

She was helping until her shedded hair decided to fall right on the thermal grease for my H80i gt. She knew it was time to leave at that point. Thumbs up for magnetic side filters!

Not sure if it matters, but I think you need to move your GPU to the top slot

I want to but I am not sure where to put my wireless card... I'm guessing I can put it on the bottom PCIe?? Maybe?

Yeah I don't think it matters where you put your wireless card too much.

Wow. These ThermalTake cases are really loved at the moment! This is a really nice build, and I hope you are proud of yourself for building something this magnificent.

P.S. Did you decide against using the cat? I would have SLI-ed it with that 970 if I were you!

Thanks, I was a little self conscious at first but the cat gave me most of my courage.

I've personally never heard of such a thing.

Glad you like it. For my first build since I was 16 over 15 years ago I am very content with my build, especially with all the positive comments.
