Description

First build, thanks to PCPartsPicker and lots of information available on youtube and PC forums I was able to choose exact parts for my needs and assemble it exactly how I wanted it . Was looking for a build that would destroy in gaming while looking good with or with out RGBs and I think I hit that goal, I will let you guys decide =D

Thermaltake view 37: Absolutely love how this case looks. Two features that I really like about is the side mount for a radiator and unique curved window . I was worried about acrylic getting scratched but I took great care of it , didn't take the plastic off until the build was complete . Originally planed on making a PSU shroud but decided against it. I was not able to fit 2 140mm fans on the bottom with the original mount points, had to drill new holes ( 2 120mm fans should fit fine ). The radiator exhaust point is chocked off in my opinion , drilled a bunch of holes to open it up ( this did not effect overall structure ). Drilled new mounting points for the rad , moving it 3/8 of an inch closer to the front due to clearance issue with the EVGA power link .

Asus ROG strix z370-E: Works as it should. My only complaint is a single 5V ADD_Header , would be nice to have 2. had to order a Y splitter to plug in the V1TECH backplate.

Kraken X72: Sexy, enough said. Pump is silent.

Thermaltake Riing Plus RGB TT Premium Edition fans: They look and work great . But I had the most trouble setting up the fans out of anything else. The case came with 3 fans so I ordered 6 more additional fans . Case fans and the extra fans that I ordered came with different controller and I wasn't able to sync them . If you are reading this do your self a favor and order TT sync controller ( sold separately ) , supports up to 9 fans .

V1TECh back plate: Great quality , easy to install .

Flokke 2 Builds 4 points 4 months ago

Great build love the EVGA back plate it just pops

Jnathanroy 1 Build 3 points 4 months ago

Agreed. Was considering getting one of these but ended up buying a GPU that had a nice backplate already. However, the lighting on the back of the GPU is enviable.

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 3 points 4 months ago

I really wanted FTW3 , it has a nice back plate but I would of had clearance issue with the side mounted radiator so I had to get CS2 edition instead which has a plane backplate.

soykac 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

Where can you by these?

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

V1TECH

Seriously though, this is one of the most ******* beautiful PC's I've ever seen.

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

Haha, thank you!!

Russkie69 3 Builds 3 points 4 months ago

This is very aesthetically pleasing, I like the use of black and white for contrast between the RGB. I really liked your build, but whenever the Skyline title is brought up it always reminds me of this build right here!

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

Thank you . That's a very nice build !

SeanBromson 2 points 4 months ago

She is just beautiful! Great build.

+1, it looks amazing with the plain white lighting and subtle green highlights on the kraken and gpu, I love the look of this

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 2 points 4 months ago

thank you, that's the color I ended up sticking with .

xconnor 1 Build 2 points 4 months ago

its...beautiful! love that evga backplate. congrats on the feature my dude!

legendarypoet 13 Builds 2 points 4 months ago

Who makes that GPU? /s Good looking build!

Beauty of a build! Congrats on Feature! +1

WANGERDINGER 2 points 4 months ago

Dude the backplate is great

Thinshaw18 2 points 4 months ago

I had the same problem with my thermaltake riing plus fans and my thermaltake cooler. Kind of silly that they would do that. I literally spent like 30 minutes putting together different configurations and looking for a part that I was sure that I was missing, but turns out Thermaltake just wanted more of my money...

Beautiful build. Absolutely stunning. You and I have very similar taste it would seem. The View 37 is so nice and all the room within makes it so easy to work with doesn't it? Congrats on your build, it looks stunning and I'm sure it is quiet, cool, and powerful

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

Thank you!

It is absolutely silly , they have 3 different controllers for the exact same product line and none of them sync with each other . Put my build on a 3 day extra wait time.

Love the case and it is easy to build in , had to make some slight mods to it for fitment . I wish the view panel was tampered glass . System stays cool and quiet even with 5ghz overclock .

undeadrebel1441 1 Build 2 points 4 months ago

Dude this is beautiful. Also, I was actually looking for anyone who had any opinions on V1tech plates before I get my own. You answered my question about that and the TT Fans. Thanks

KEN.SG 1 Build 2 points 4 months ago

Love the look and the......fans :)

SpiffyJUNIOR 2 points 4 months ago

Nice to see something fresh. +1

HeinzFTW 2 points 4 months ago

I'm thinking of ordering a V1 GPU backplate as well. Any suggestions or extra parts I need to order to install it? I've looked and there is no clear explanation of how to do it.

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 2 points 4 months ago

It comes with everything you will need , wires , remote, magnets and double sided tape .

HeinzFTW 2 points 4 months ago

Thank you

Rx_Titan 2 points 4 months ago

I'm a real fan of this build.

Fyremoon65 2 points 4 months ago

Looks like you went over the top with the LED fans! Do you live in a hot and humid environment to warrant that many? :D Seriously, kudos to you for an awesome build.

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

lol , Thank you!

Nater650 2 points 4 months ago

Nice

LJL03 2 points 4 months ago

There's hardly any rgb haha

singhgagan 2 points 4 months ago

Oh man! How did you even hide all those cables? looks sick af, especially the backplate. I can see myself using those fans for the next build. good stuff!

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

lets just say cable management was a challenge =D, fan controller has 14 wires total and thermaltake was very generous in terms of cable length ( somewhere around 3 ft long lol )

shosick 2 points 4 months ago

Looks like Flosstradamus' set at EDCLV.

Namnguyen 2 Builds 2 points 4 months ago

Awesome build. Congrats on the feature!

oblivionofficial 3 Builds 2 points 4 months ago

How's the NZXT Kraken X72? Is it kind of overkill for the CPU, or just right?

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

just right imo, CPU is overclocked to 5Ghz at1.32V so it does get to 80+C at full load when running a stress test.

Aydenlebron24 2 points 4 months ago

That Backplate looks amazing

Socks21684 2 points 4 months ago

So much Thermal Take Branded cooling items + the TT case and the one NZXT CPU Cooler in the middle... Nice...

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

originally bought thermaltake 360 AIO =D but Kraken is sexier

Absekon 2 Builds 2 points 4 months ago

Just.........nice! Not much else to say.

Scrap04 1 Build 2 points 4 months ago

DAMN how many fans did u put lol

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

as many as I could fit lol

Scrap04 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

I bet it’s mad loud though

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

Not at all, fan curve is set to 25% fan speed to 60C . The only thing I hear when gaming is the GPU fans .

Scrap04 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

See that’s something that I can’t do bc my software is mad tweaking and it don’t say there are no fans when there are and they working

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

are you adjusting the fan curve in BIOS?

gimmemoneyBish 1 point 4 months ago

what were ur temps

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

I will let you know today or tomorrow, I want to OC today. I will run stock and OC to compare temps.

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

temps are posted . Heaven at extreme settings for GPU test

Intel extreme tuning utility for CPU test

xSanchez78 2 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

Do you control the thermaltake fans with the NZXT Kraken using the Cam software by using the TT Sync controller to pass through a PWM signal? That's what I plan on doing in the future and I think it's a pretty cool little concept

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

Not exactly. I'm usuing aura sync for everything except the Kraken and GPU . TT fans wont sync with cam and cam wont sync with asus aura sync .

xSanchez78 2 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

I was not talking about the RGB, I'm talking about the fan speed, hence why I said "PWM Signal".

Maple_Syrup 2 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

Did you get name inspiration from the car?

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

funny thing is I thought about GT-R after the fact! Inspiration came from city skyline .

Maple_Syrup 2 Builds 2 points 4 months ago

Ah I see

HinksIT 1 point 4 months ago

would have went custom loop. and jeez dude your ***** going to be dusty AF, also ryzen proc literally waiting money buying intel till 2022.

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 2 points 4 months ago

Custom loop would of been lovely but first time building , didnt want to complicate things . Next build for sure . Not worried about the dust I keep the house clean and all intakes have dust filters . Using this rig for gaming so 8700k was the way to go in my opinion .

SCACExOFxSPADES 1 point 4 months ago

$1601.37 PLUS the cost of the EVGA GPU...

tayhuff 1 point 4 months ago

Beautiful build, love the case but I'm holding out on a TG version or maybe ill get the Lian Li O11 Dynamic havent decided yet.

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 2 points 4 months ago

Thank you! O11 was on my list of 3 cases that I wanted, other one was Phanteks evolve X . I think Lian Li is a better quality case but a lot of people have it, I wanted something different .

RaueBlackBox 1 point 4 months ago

only 500gb of storage?

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

1T 970 evo m.2 500g 960 evo ssd

theBloodsoaked 1 point 4 months ago

After a few builds you'll begin to understand the least amount of fans to get the job done, the better :P

Good work tho

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

thanks

after a few builds I will still install as many fans as the case can take.

THATGUY629 1 point 4 months ago

Were you able to link all of the rgb? Or did you just go into different programs and make it all the same color?

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

fans, ram and motherboard are synced. The rest is on its own.

paintballfan1112233@gmail.com 1 point 4 months ago

does V1TECH sell backplates for the 1080ti FTW3? All i see are the backplates for the SC2

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

sure does , use the drop down menu to pick your gpu.

paintballfan1112233@gmail.com 1 point 4 months ago

thank you

clone_the_quack 1 point 4 months ago

Could use more fans. 5/7 build.

SpringPanda93 1 point 4 months ago

Where did you hide your reservoir?

franciscastafdz 1 point 4 months ago

Great build Daniel!

I am trying to build something similar and I would like to ask you something. Do you think I could fit in the GeForce GTX 1070 8 GB Video Card with the NZXT Kraken X72?

Not sure about the length as your 1080 is 267 mm / 10.512 " and 1070 is 298 mm / 11.732 "

Best,

Cisco

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

Thank you!

Im assuming you will be using same case and radiator placement . If so , 298mm going to be VERY close. I have moved my radiator mounting points over to the front so i cant measure exactly. With that being said , if you do run into fitment issue it is very easy to move the radiator over to give you more clearance so i wouldnt worry to much and just get the card you want .

franciscastafdz 1 point 4 months ago

Thank you so much Daniel!

Yeah! The idea is to use the same radiator and radiator!

Cool!

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

Here https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/b/VB9J7P

this build has a 298mm card in it with the radiator and it looks like its just enough room =)

franciscastafdz 1 point 4 months ago

Many thanks!

I think I will go for it. What about the lack of ventilation in the case. Are you happy with that? I have been watching some videos and it is the only cons I can find to this case.

Best,

Cisco

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

This case does not lack ventilation , I have good temps at idle and load.

Here is the link to Gamers Nexus review on this case https://youtu.be/0l9oJ2Qd-qI Its not the best but definitely not the worst for airflow

franciscastafdz 1 point 4 months ago

Thanks Daniel!

Yeah! Same case and radiator. I hope the 1070 will fit there. Still playing with the parts. It will be my first build tho

Thanks!

Stubakka 1 point 3 months ago

Thank you so much for all your info on this build i pretty much just build the same system and its amazing, thanks for the info about the TT Sync Controller I was wondering about that! https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Stubakka/saved/JWND23 question for you I see you managed to make the CPU cooler fit with the text facing up, I didnt think id have enough room but now see i was wrong. if i wanted to take it off and flip it would i need to clean the CPU and cooler plate and apply artic silver or could i just remove it and flip it?

JMak00 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

Hope you're still lurking around here. I am wondering if the case came with one controller or two. The specs page at Thermaltake mentions an analog controller twice in the cooling section.

Also, you have 9 fans and I will also. How did you connect them all up? I am wondering if you could daisy chain the controllers and then connect the last controller to the PCI bracket controller.

Appreciate your response. Thanks.

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

Case will come with one controller but case controller wont sync with controller that came with the fans .

Do your self a favor and purchase TT sync controller on amazon . It's about 30-40$ and connects up to 9 fans .

Hope this helps !

JMak00 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

What a massive oversight by Thermaltake. Use the exact same fans as those they sell on the shelf, yet put different connectors on them.

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

Yup, it was a surprise when I was putting everything together. Set me back 3 days .

JMak00 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

Hey, Daniel, wondering if you have experienced your riing plus fans randomly surging? I've finally got my new case and fans together, but, sheesh, the fans to surge for no reason at all...

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

all fans? or 1 or 2? let me know which fans and to which fan header on the MOBO they are connected

JMak00 1 Build 2 points 3 months ago

I have 8 riing plus fans connected to two controllers...it appears that one or more of the 8 will just randomly surge. i think i have it under control now by setting them all the silent, but worry about temps.

erunamo114 1 point 2 months ago

How bright are the LED's on the fans? Is it possible to dim them?

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

very bright. Yes , I have then synced with Asus aura. You can dim or turn them off

TO_TOASTY 1 point 1 month ago

WHEN PERSON BUYS A MOTHERBOARD THAT'S MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE CPU AND A GPU THAT'S OUT OF DATE... Only if I could add pictures... Nice build though and absolutely love the RGB.

daniel.petrykin submitter 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

I paid 260 for mobo... all the parts were purchased before 9th gen and RTX .

Thanks.

haha thank you Its my first PC build , but I did retrofit emergency vehicles with lights and hardware for some time , also a fabricator for over 5 years so I got lots of attention to detail .
