"you know that part of life when you can finally start fulfill your childhood dreams ..."

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/11394942 - default out-of-box, just XMP on ddr4s

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/11417731 - with some basic tweak gui settings.

Trackir5, Thurstmaster T500RS, X-55 HOTAS connected and Acer Predator will complete this box of pure happiness in near future. Will be updated. Also I promise better pictures once I clean my desk ...

Original idea was something to fly DCS and maybe enjoy GTAV and Assassins series. I also like to drive. So plan was to build rig with 3 monitors to enjoy Dirt Rally and fly Huey and Hog in DCS. I already had that Benq lcd, so in theory I wanted to add 2 other screens to get better feeling from flying and driving sideways. During last weeks I changed idea of 3x monitors to one big Predator. I don't have it yet, so here is the story of my BlackBox, or 'color-full circus' how calls it my girl ;)

This build is not top-of-top, it's not best-for-money, it's just 'put-here-max', try to stay bellow 2800 usd and let some space for future upgrade (second 980Ti). I'm sure there are parts which can be swapped with cheaper or better, but I wanted these and put it here. It's mix of highend gaming and silent livingroom pc. It will probably don't need upgrade until 4k is in everybody's fridge display.

It's my first built after 'I-dont-know-how-long' as I spent long time with laptops and xbox. So many things changed since AMD Athlon xp+ and http://www.gpureview.com/Riva-TNT2-32MB-card-208.html, something like you know you can use mouse in bios .... and there are colors?!!! was happening all the time ...

As stated by Jeremy from TG - "Moore power!"

Seriously & honestly 1q2016 - when I found that ti980 is must to run 4k in ultra with shame in 30~50fps I was surprised. okey, Titan is not a way and I was still thinking if gtx980ti worth the money. You can have some crossfires and SLIs for less money and same/better performance, but who wants to f$$k with 4 graphic cards right ... So, if more cards, then 2x gtx980Ti. One will be fine for now, and we will see later how prices will change. When I said 'yes' to gtx 980Ti, there were no excuses to put platinum power source and spent extra 100bucks for better cpu. now that Ti980 is only one thing which is used for 100% during load.

Ordering TrackIr and selling Benq, looking forward to Predator X34 ...

cheers,

JooGrr

Awesome build. I have the Entho Luxe and really enjoy it, but may look at this case in the future. I love LEDs, but was wondering where you put the controller for the HUE?

Hi,

on 3rd picture (with detail to case window) you can see that controller sitting on power source. I don't like it here as it was making mess with cables in middle of case. But it is not a big issue if you make them fancy ;) Also controller is shining with white led if you can use it. Now is controller mounted in front bottom of case where you expect hdds. You can have Fractal lower hdd mount in this place. I don't have disks here, so controller is attached to case with standard screws. disks are mounted under 5.25 positions, just behind fans). If you think about HUE+ I can only recommend - easy install, easy control via app from windows. you can use fancy things like changing of color (of your choice) according to temperature of CPU or GPU, or sound levels, or etc ... :) You can set one circle of LEDs, or 2 separate. LED stripes has magnets and also stickers, so you don't need to 'fix' them in case. Mine are holding just with magnets and it is fine. Also I was able to insert one LED stripe to front part of case, it was really easy.

Nice score! I was thinking about x99 and more graphics cards, but in final I choose one gtx Ti, as I plan to put another one when prices drops (hoping when some Pascal arrives ;)) Also I'm still bit afraid of SLI functionality in some games... And yeah - 6700k really don't make any advantage from i5 in most of games. But you know, it's 100 bucks more and you can have that beast ticking inside.

My recommends about gaming PC are simple : decide in which resolution you want to play until next upgrade. it if is fullHD, don't look around for similar parts, you need in max half of these! In 1440p things start to turn, and to have 4k in 60fps you need second gtxTi ... isn't it mad?

understood and I like your way. I updated main description why I choosed gtx980. I think this is interesting point and will interest some people. thats a reason I put that part of 'you-don't-need-it' story :)

today I totally agree with 'i7 for gaming? why?' -> it's true! But don't have it? way other :D

I would like to compare 2x980Ti and 4x970 some day :)

(and I hope I will study how to tweak this one Ti and make few hundreds of points more ;)

many thanks for reference, in shops nearby is price of 2x 970 same as one 980Ti, so it was easy choice.
