Description

My first PC build. I originally built it in the InWin 101c chassis, but the 1070 Ti DUKE was too big to fit. The CPU cooler radiator was getting in the way I configured it. So, I did a simple case swap, and now have an empty PC case, just sitting. Maybe I'll built something small. lol

Nice work on your first build. Why the 8700k with a 1070Ti? You could probably have saved a few bucks and got an i5 8400 or even a R5 2600x.

Congrats and enjoy :)

When I was buying components, I was going all out. But, the graphic card prices sky rocketed. $1,200 just for the 1080ti was too much for me. So what I decided to do, is get a second Duke card, from the second hand market, later on. That's why I went with the 1000 watt psu.

Hey, Just wondering how this system is performing so far. I have the same rig. Just waiting on the delivery of my 8700k. I've watched benchmarks etc but was wondering if you could let me know firsthand how its holding up?

I'm at 5ghz within 2 clicks, and its running excellently. I haven't even overclocked the 1070 Ti, and I'm getting over 100fps in Strange Brigade, and just getting to 60 in Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Both in 1080p Ultra presets. I'm still thinking of putting a second DUKE, I get closer and closer each day. Lol

Thanks for replying. Yeh I managed to get mine to 5ghz really easy. I'm using an air cooler though so my CPU is hitting 80. Might order the NZXT Kraken next week to keep it cooler. Might OC my GPU but its running really smooth atm so might leave it abit before i do.

I think this is the same video card that I'm looking at. It fits with no issues? The GTX 1070 Ti DUKE 8G triple fans? I've been measuring my case but was looking on here to see if anyone got this big card to fit!

No, it's very big. I've had many issues with the NZXT and the first case I had it in( InWin 101c). It's just a long card, with a big plastic face plate. I have it set up for push-pull and I can't fit a fan where the Duke sits. I love that card too much to change it. I'm getting great FPS, and I haven't overclocked it.

Just make sure you do the research, because you'll end up with a spare case. Lol

The case you changed it to was a S340?

Yes. I had everything in the InWin chasis, and moved everything over to the NZXT. They are both great cases, for their respective positive and negative attributes. If I had to choose between the two, my personal taste leans towards the InWin, because the glass side panel is bigger.
