Description

This is a build that I've been working on for some time, somewhere around a year and a half. So I've been buying these parts whenever I can over that timespan. The graphics card is getting a little dated as well as the hard drives, but I plan to drop and SSD and a R9 280X in there soon!

I'm not really a hardcore gamer, but I play a lot of BF4 whenever I can. So my overall goal of this was to play BF4 at 60FPS, as well as a little bit of video/photo editing using Adobe CC. With this current build, I'm getting 60 FPS on BF4 with mostly ultra settings.

How you liking that h110? I have one cooling an enthusiast 9590 build atm and I wish I had gone with the kraken h60 by nzxt bc the kraken offers such sweet support but... meh. I'm curious to know what you think of it.

What case fans are you using? Are those the nzxt fans?

EDIT: for this kind of money, maybe a SSD would have been in order to speed things up just a tiny bit in the obvious ways... Meh Hey and easy with the down votes peeps, maybe this was a rushed submit and there's a good description coming after work or when they're done fighting crime or something...

Yeah you pretty much nailed it with your edit, I'm still at work at the moment and I didn't realize I would actually get comments on this thing so quickly. I've got more pics to post and a better desc. to add.

As for an SSD.. that's in the works. As well as a R9 280x video card. Probably after the holidays. Also I'm using the fans that came with the case, fractal design 140mm. The two front fans came with the H110, which I am liking a lot right now. Although I had to work with it a bit to have it fit in the front.

Very nice. I'm a huge fan of the case and the front-mounted rad.

Workin' on the description :) but I would've liked to actually have the rad on top but it wouldn't fit :/ Loving the case otherwise though!

Pretty awesome build but: What it is for? Why a 7850 paired with a 3770k? Why not haswell? Why I am not rich?

Just kidding but i think he uses it for editing, no?

I got a really good deal on the 3770K, and I wasn't ready to drop the extra dollars for a new 1150 mobo and processor at the time, so I just have the 3770K OC'd to 4.5Ghz.

60 fps in bf4 with ultra settings with a 7850... I'm going to call bs on that one sorry

I'll post the pictures to prove it :)

A 760 doesn't even get 60 fps on bf4 with ultra settings @ 1080p

Edit: I'm not trying to take away from your build as the build itself is very nice and clean looking I just don't believe that card comes close to those frame rates on bf4

I understand why people are calling bs, I probably would too, but note that I put mostly ultra settings. I definitely had to tweak the settings a bit to get it to stay at 60fps. I think I had to turn off anti-aliasing and the HBAO setting, and turn on the v-sync, but the rest is on ultra.

But something I've learned making this build is an OC'd motherboard and video card go a long way! :)

What resolution are you running at?

1920x1080 via HDMI on one monitor, and I have an old 4:3 lcd at 1024x768 via DVI.

-6? Am I missing something here? This looks pretty decent to me. I would have gone for at least an R9 270X but apart from that what's up with it?

Nice taste in keyboards OP.

I think I should probably point out that this build has been put together and updated over about a year or so. Started out with a mATX build so some parts are coming from that. Such as my graphics card, which I bought about a year ago.

The keyboard is one of my newest additions, and I love it! The cherry MX red's are so much better than the MX blues I had in my last keyboard!

Isn't the R9 270x a rebuild...PR...wierdness move by AMD to rerelease a slightly better version of the HD7800 for a little more hype and hopes of making more cash. I think nvidia did the same too but I'm just arguing symantecs lol

If you reach the 60 FPS in BF4, I think I could too hehehe. Congrats for a nice selection.

pretty sure the downvotes were for the name, i don't blame them

To be honest, this is my first build on here and when I published I didn't know it would actually get any attention. The name was pretty much just placeholder as I don't really name my computers. I am also not very creative :/

I like the build, but people see it and they class you as someone they don't like. Thats pretty much the only problem. Dont worry about the build not being good or anything, its a great build. People just saw that and probably disliked it without looking.

why the 3rd gen core, why not the 4770k?

Upgraded to the i7 for $250 when I had my older mATX board. So when I decided to upgrade the motherboard I kept the CPU and the 1155 socket and bought liquid cooling so I could OC it.

Looks at BF4. Looks at 7850.
