Description

This machine is the first computer I have ever built myself. All components marked as $0.00 are pulled from an old gaming PC I bought for cheap. The SSD came from eBay and I feel I got a good deal there. The CPU and Mobo was a package deal from my local Fry's aka Heaven on Earth. That saved me a good deal of money which I will next invest in a proper GPU and PSU. The NZXT Hue was a gift from my amazing Girlfriend, soon to be Fiancé. RAM was also bought from Fry's. They don't carry G. skill, so the only other brand I trusted was Corsair. The case, also purchased from Fry's is very good for the price, but lacks in Cable management imo. Let me know what y'all think. Pics coming soon!

Edit: found out this PSU is just too old and lacks a necessary power cable. Some of my noobish oversight. Next paycheck I'll grab a 500w corsair CXM, which will also help with cable management

BIG UPDATE: Grabbed a corsair 500w semi modular power supply. I love how rock solid it feels. The packaging was also very nice. Definitely feel like I got my money's worth. I also went to fry's and price matched down a nice Asus 750ti OC edition. It's red and black and I not only got a discount, but I still got the $20 rebate.

Windows scores: OVERALL: 7.2 CPU: 7.2 RAM: 7.4 (running at 1333, don't know how to get it to the full 1866) GRAPHICS: 7.7 (for both) I was blown away with this score for $130 HARD DISK: 7.9 yay!

Overall very pleased with my first machine. Named Supernatral after the TV show and because the NZXT HUE gives it a spooky glow. Thanks for the feedback everyone!

It's good when you can reuse parts and find used parts. Do you plan on overclocking, if so you should get an aftermarket cooler. Nice budget build.

I would like to OC at some point, perhaps after I get a better GPU. Any recommendations on coolers? Is water cooling overkill? Thanks

How's that SSD? I have a 240GB one in my shop and am curious as to how it performs.

I remember having an old school 4800 series card. Nice build for 300 bucks, love that you reused parts.
