Hey, guys!

I did a pretty lousy job of showing-off my PC build a couple days ago. Had only a couple pictures, showing the setup build from a further view without any close-ups or inside the case pics, etc.

(PC comes out to $991 without the extra accessories, etc.)

This build was initially built in order to give me 60 FPS @Ultra in BF4, serve as an editing machine for my Youtube channel (youtube.com/unarmedfilms4u) & photography hobbies! I was 17 years old, and giving my very first paycheck/job directly to my PC (after buying my mother some flowers, of course...gotta be a boss! ;P), so I was looking for a more-than-solid PC for the cheapest prices possible...which I'm assuming everyone out there was looking for. Keep patient, wait for those sales..but don't be too hesitant at the same time! PCPartPicker is your friend, so refer here for help in your first time building your rig!

FYI, I just received my $20 mail-in-rebate for my Sapphire 7950 graphics card in the mail! :)

The Wireless USB is only used for backup purposes, otherwise I have a solid Ethernet line going through my computer..

Here's plenty of pictures, but you'll notice that not all of them resemble to each other..that's because I moved around/rearranged my room dramatically, so everything looks a little bit different..but I like it! :D

PLEASE, leave your feedback in the comments...oh, and feel free to add me on Steam, Origin, Twitch or wherever it may be! My name is universal, so you'll find me as 'Scommando1' everywhere! ;)

Also, check out & subscribe to my new YouTube channel which has a dedicated 'setup build' video, dedicated to my PC! :D (http://youtu.be/CKmgOGaxYGs) -Messed up on the ram with the speed, but corrected it! :P My channel's slogan is, "The perfect mix between tech & gaming!"..so I think many of you will enjoy what I have to bring..including in the very near future! :)

Sorry for the long rant, I wanted to make sure I gave out as much information as possible! :)

ALL feedback, will be MUCH appreciated! :D

Apologize about the confusion between my previous post & this one, I just simply thought I needed the post re-done...please don't express any rage! ;P

Radio_Memories 6 Builds 1 point 48 months ago

Just noted, your Power Supply is mounted upside down. The fan should be pointed down to let cool air into it.

CbassFishin 1 point 48 months ago

I have to agree with the psu situation, btw good build for the price. I have the 7950 (upgraded from a GTX 570) and it's by far one of the best cards for the price.

Scommando1 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 48 months ago

Oh, wow..well, that's quite embarrassing! :P

It's still been giving me excellent temps though..I'm not sure what do now, since I'm going to have to completely reconnect everything...?

Radio_Memories 6 Builds 1 point 48 months ago

Shouldn't have to disconnect anything. You can still flip the PSU around and the wires will be even closer to the rubber grommet cable management opening. You just have to pull the slack up a little on the other side of the case and tie it back down with some more cable ties.

blaziecat1103 1 point 48 months ago

The power supply orientation doesn't really matter. Also, planning on any overclocking?

Matryoshka 2 Builds 1 point 48 months ago

Yes, it does. If it's pointed down directly on the bottom of the case, there will be limited cool air going into it.

blaziecat1103 1 point 48 months ago

But the case is on a desk, there's an opening in the bottom and the Define R4 has good-sized feet to let air get under it. If the computer were on a thick carpet, then the bottom intake would definitely be blocked.

chris886 1 point 48 months ago

Wait you're saying the orientation matters, but then arguing that it should be pointed up, as it is currently. I think it needs to be pointed down, since most cases have a vent built in to the bottom to allow air flow.

ESPM400 1 Build 1 point 48 months ago

That's correct. If the intake is pointed up, not only is it sucking warmer air from all the components above it, it's also robbing the GPU of intake air. Pointing the intake down (so long as there's a solid surface underneath) means that it doesn't even use the same air as the rest of the build, effectively eliminating it from the rest of the system.

I'm "jelly" of your build

Scommando1 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 48 months ago

Oh, well thanks...don't be though, you'll get yourself something like that in the near future! ;)

DjArtifact 1 point 48 months ago

"BF4 Ultra @60FPS" maybe at 1024x768. Not at 1080p that's for sure.

AlexMarcu 1 point 48 months ago

Beta was horribly optimized, but my friend with a FX-8350 and a Sapphire HD 7950 was playing 1080P was playing on Ultra preset at 50-65FPS. Will probably be a lot better when the full game is released.

OT: Really like the build and the setup.

Scommando1 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 48 months ago

Like Alex mentioned, the BF4 Beta was HORRIBLY optimized...and I almost got those numbers in 1080p in that phase...when the full release is out, I guarantee you it'll be giving me those numbers (if not more, which I can be confident it will).

KingOfKhazmidan 1 point 48 months ago

what games r u running at ultra and whats ur fps. Btw sweet build

Scommando1 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 48 months ago

Every game runs on ultra!

BF3 @60-90FPS is an example..give me some major games examples...

bootselectric 1 point 48 months ago

Damn, I love that case. Can't wait for mine to come in the next few days!

Scommando1 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 48 months ago

It really does live up to it's great reputation. Very stealthy, professional & looks great on a desk!

I don't like the nerdy-gamer look (christmas tree setup :P), so this worked out perfectly! :D

bootselectric 2 points 48 months ago

Completely agree, less is more as far as outer case aesthetics go!

MahimulH 1 point 48 months ago

I like this build so I have a +1 :) That 7950 at $170 is a steal...well at least here in Canada. :P Hope you enjoy gaming on this! Btw, I am going to send a friend request on origin. My name is Harvey_Spect3r

Scommando1 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 48 months ago

Just accepted it! :)

tomaryus 1 Build 1 point 46 months ago

Hey I got a question. Do you have the mbios led lighting up orange while using the computer ? +1 for the build

Scommando1 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 44 months ago

Apologize about about the late response, and yes I do!

It's perfectly normal! :)

Also, if you wouldn't mind letting me know how I did on my newest setup tour video in the comment section of that video..it'd be cool! http://youtu.be/Xq45Y_dk6fs

mrexmr 1 Build 1 point 42 months ago

What are the temps of your core i5 4670K??

Scommando1 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 42 months ago

Around 40 degrees on average!

P.S. Sorry 'bout the late reply! :|

mrexmr 1 Build 1 point 42 months ago

So, the stock cooler's okay?? I've heard that the i5 4670k gets up to 100 degrees, causing thermal throttle, with the stock cooler. Have you ran into any problems regarding that?

Scommando1 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Nope, not at all! Great performance so far! (built in August)

P.S. Sorry 'bout the late reply, ONCE AGAIN! :P

Harleysmoke -2 points 48 months ago

I know it doesn't really matter, but I think that case is ugly... I prefer the Phantoms. The Phantom 530 (The one I use in my build) is pricy but it looks awesome and is a very good case in general!

I_Luv_Cheetos 1 point 48 months ago

That's a whole different class of case... that would be a gaming style case; where as this is a sleek case. It's personal preference tbh

Scommando1 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 48 months ago

Completely agree with you there!

I personally didn't want a nerdy-gamer look/impression, and/or a Christmas tree on my desk...I wanted something stealthy, professional, sleek & something that looks great on the desk- this was the perfect answer.

I_Luv_Cheetos 1 point 48 months ago

This is exactly my thoughts... although the new CM HAF Stacker 935 is appealing to me with its functionality
