Description

Built this as my first pc build, I've been wanting to do this forever and finally did it. Computer runs uber cool and I'm running OC'd at 4.4ghz! Tackles everything I've thrown at it, and only thing holding me back is internet speed, and I could use an ssd. The GTX 770 barely fit the case, and the hyper 212 barely fit as well! It will fit though so don't worry, this case is fantastic. Runs VERY cold at idle, and under high load, stay at a very nice temperature. BF3 on ultra plays insanely amazing.

NOTE: Just noticed at high speeds, the middle fan on the gtx770 rattles! Be wary!

Are you sure those CPU temps are correct? That idle temp is quite a bit below room temperature. Maybe something is wrong with the temp sensor or the software you used to test it? Might be something to look into, could be serious.

agreed... unless you are running this thing in a ******* freezer I cant see how a 212 Plus is keeping this thing under 50 degrees... ONLY explanation other than the freezer theory is that he found the one and only Haswell that runs efficiently and doesn't even heat-up... at all....

Well, like I said, it could also be something wrong with something he's using to read out the temperature sensor, and that could be bad if the motherboard's relying on that to effectively cool the CPU. OP, you may want to look into this and possibly the warranty in case it is something wrong.

Especially because Haswell's can get very hot, very fast once you start pumping up the voltage and clock speeds. A good temp sensor is almost necessary.

My point.

It might be the temp above the room temp.

Why would anyone ever post the temperature delta over the actual maximum temperature? That doesn't make any sense, and if they did do that, it's misleading.

It removes the differences there could be between room temperatures. is one is at 70c with a room temp of 20c, its the same as 60c with a room temp of 10c.

So with this theory VOX you're saying theoretically he's running this at a room temp of -10c... FREEZER THEORY IS PLAUSIBLE!!! Granted winter clothing and a ton of blankets included! I WANT A PRICE FIX!

I'm going to assume your right, the temp sensor must be messed up. That's what had me confused at first, but I just went with it. Anyway everything still works good at this point so I'm not complaining.

A high overclock for Haswell is 4.6+, 4.4 is pretty average.

Yea common to get a lot of power out of this chipset I agree fully and don't disagree! but go look at other builds! How many have idles at 10 and max loads of an OC'd processor at 40?! Water cooling cant even give those results at this level of OC!

10C is below ambient. It is impossible to idle below ambient without a chilled water setup. His temps are wrong.

Nice build.

Nice overclock as well!

Thanks! I appreciate the compliment it's doing fine, but I just noticed the gtx 770 has a little fan rattle on the middle fan at high speeds... tsk tsk, time to see what the warranty is with pny haha. Other than that little issue, all is well.

Good to hear!

(EDIT: Too bad about the 770, I hope you get it fixed)

Enjoy your build, sir.

Happy Gaming!

Oh and can we get some internal pictures?

Yeah I'll include one right now!

Nice, I like it.

Enjoy your build sir!

I don't think that's an issue that PNY can ignore, considering the problems a failed fan would cause, you can probably get an RMA on that.
