Description

My main rig now a X48 / Q9450 will be retired to do some coin mining when it sits there with a 7950, have fun buddy, been a good run with you.

This new rig will replace the Q9450 as my day to day computer from gaming to post processing etc... Also another reason to pick prodigy is it has such a huge modding community behind it, so I want to pick it up and give myself a kick in some side hobbies beside just sitting on my chair playing mmo and coding all day.

The rig is somewhat done now as it is, I still need to get the shroud of the video card wrap up with the carbon fiber vinyl, but that probably going to take some practice as it's not that straight forward compare to the case wrapping :x

And if you guys got any tips on how to wrap vinyl around small objects, drop me a comment plz! Thanks!

Edit: Finally get the wrapping done for the video card shroud! not the prettiest work but i guess it's okay for a first time work .

P.S if anyone interested in this rig, selling for 1900 :P

Very nice. I love the carbon fiber wrap and the red accents. May I ask why you chose these parts?

I was meant to do a Red/Black Themed rig, so all the parts on the list is pretty much black / red colored. But I must be tripping hardcore when I ordered the case... it came white X( even my invoice showed that I purchased white lol...

Other than that, there aren't any specific reason for parts, I just picked whatever is reasonable within the black/red. And as you can see, my last rig is a Q9450 which dated back to 5 to 6 years ago, I don't upgrade often beside GPU (every other gen on GPU), so I want to have a good overclock potential down the road to last me a good while.

nope lol not at all. I was even lucky to get that 280X at retail price when I gathering the parts. just start out mining not long ago, will see how this goes XD

With any luck, you could just break even on power costs. It might not be worth jumping in now- I would use your processing power for something like rosetta@home instead, folding proteins to try and find cures to diseases.

This is pretty darn close to my ideal build. Just would have preferred a red prodigy, to match the graphics card and mobo. Great Build!!!

ya. red or black prodigy would've worked great.... damn what i was thinking when i order :(

yeah. Literally the only other thing that would be different that would make this build literally completely perfect would be a 780 instead of the 280x, though the 280x should handle everything fine, and it has the same wicked awesome looking cooler. Again, amazing build!

Edit: nice cooler mod on the GPU!

It works amazing as it is now. but my card is acting a bit weird while playing games :x some artifact on certain texture in FFXIV, i can't figure out if it's the driver or the card yet.

Where did you buy the carbon fiber wraps?

ebay, just search for 3d carbon fiber u will see bunch of result.

would you have space for a push pull in configuration.

I haven't really try this, but if you put the pull fan outside of the where the filter at, u will pull the set up off. but if inside the case, I dont think the tube can bend that much :x

Normally I diss Prodigy builds. This, however…

This build has so much swag, I can't handle it

i would have gotten a higher wattage psu, otherwise this is a nice build.

hmm may i ask why for higher watt? i thought 200w headroom should be plenty for overclock needs :x i am still within return period, so feed backs on parts all welcome XD

You're fine. Most people just assume 750+ or go home for PSU anymore and they don't recognize that you can't expand to SLI with these mITX cases... Same things go for the people that think a 780 is the only GPU that can power games. No you are very safe with this build and a 650W.
