Description

First build since 2009. Saw the 1080ti on sale for 599 and pulled the trigger on all the new gear. Everything fit together super well. No fit issues. Running very cool and quite. I'm pumped!

Damn clean, out of curiosity why the 850 Evo rather than an 860? I mean the 850 is still a great drive (I use two in my main rig) but why the older drive?

I had it laying around already. Otherwise would have gone with something newer. Will add a second m.2 sometime.

Yeah I get it. I found a 1TB Crucial MX200 in my drawer of spare parts the other day and I was like sweet sooo going in my main rig

but then I realized I had run out of SATA ports on my board

so I sold it

Did you overclock the CPU?

Yeah but only with the EZ mode that the ASUS motherboard has. I’ll go more aggressive over the next week.

Nice! I basically have a very similar system coming in. I've got the Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro sticks and the Noctua DH-D15S though with the Asus Prime Z370-A. Very excited by how your's look!

Bro this is a sick PC build. But should I make liquid cooling with 1500-2000$ budget? Or will it be too hard?

I thought about going water, but the air works well and is so easy. Water is cool though. I just wanted minimal maintenance.

Cool man, If I wanted to build a liquid cooling, I would have to bend the cubes and things right?

You can get stock liquid cooling setups with all the tubes ready to go. If you want that custom water loop then you'll have to do all the bends etc. I def was not ready to try any of that.

Does your build run cool? Looking at the same components and i'm afraid that it will be too hot.

Just built it, but so far so good. No issues with heat. Had it at load for many hours today and all temps were in a good range. The case is vented very well, and the be quiet cpu cooler is awesome.

Did you have any trouble with the RAM booting it up the first time? I'm trying to help a friend set up his build using the same mobo and ram kit as yours, but there is no post screen and the dram light stays on.

No issues at all. Fired right up. Maybe try with a single stick first.

Nice build man. First build since 2009? oh my god haha. Big improvement/upgrade.

May I ask why you build list does not contain any case fans? or are you relying on the included case fans from the Fractal case?

I'm relying on the included case fan. Temps are nice a cool so far. I thought about getting some extra case fans, or nicer ones, but have not seen the need so far. I love the Fractal case and the included fan seems to be nice.

Looks great! Did you have to make any adjustments to your Dark Rock Pro 4 to allow it to clear the RAM?

No issue with fit at all. A bit of room to spare in fact.
