First Effort - went easier than expected. Had a problem with the initial DRAM. After build could not get the CPU to initially post. Swapped the motherboard because of all the bad reviews on the MB I initially purchased, won't say which one because it wasn't the MB.
DRAM was the culprit. GeIL - EVO POTENZA 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 did not play well with the CPU. Apparently Ryzen likes DRAM stamped out of the "B Die". Also learned that higher frequency is better for Ryzen. Had to replace with Crucial which is reportedly the right make.
Took time and bought parts as they were on sale or special - local store had a one day blowout on Ryzen 5 1600 - $169. Build came in around $800. Found a 25" 1080p monitor, with keyboard and mouse, on Craigslist for $50.
All in all a fun build and very nice looking. Been playing PUBG on Ultra and the graphics are great. Looking forward to playing some games with better graphics to see how it really looks.
