Description

Used primarily for 1080p gaming, ready to step up to 1440p once monitor prices drop a bit. Spared a few extra bucks here and there to add additional red flare where I could without adding too much into the budget. This system performs brilliantly, it eats the newest Total Wars on the highest settings, especially when using the easy one- click over clocking located in the BIOS. Only regret in this build was opting for the Nic C5 air cooler. It's just too loud. In hindsight I would have preferred to simply get the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO or pay another $30 to get into decent liquid cooling price range.

Update: May 2016 I added a Corsair K65 RGB keyboard (birthday present from gf) and 16 gb more of Trident z DDR4 3200, which now gives me 32 gb (Groomsman gift from a friend's wedding I am in, yes I know, best groomsman gift ever, best man got a gpu). I also added a simple/cheap red LED stick to the system to give the red lighting a boost and a GTX 980 custom back plate. During installation of the back plate I decided to flip over my PSU to take advantage of air intake from the lower vent on the case, as well.

*Note: These prices are not accurate, was actually cheaper. Will upload exact prices I paid at a later date...

If the noise is kinda bothering you try changing the CPU cooler fan to a quieter one. Corsair SP120 LEDs Red(get the twin pack), not sure if that can be done in that CPU cooler since first time seeing it. Anyways +1 great choices

PS. When I saw your build in the completed section I kinda smiled and thought that the box(1st picture) was your case. haha peace bro

Haha. I had uploaded a picture of Ace Ventura crushing a package in an elevator door, suggesting that is what must have happened to that box of components on its way to my house.

Yea I would recommend a one fan water cooler from corsair, for 30 more dollars you can get a watercooler is better performance wise and also looks really nice and small. on top of that is a lot quieter.

The downside of the sp120 fans is that they aren't pwm fans, you're kinda stuck at them blowing full speed.

Rather fascinating...

Nice. Only thing I'd change was to get the Thermaltake Riing fans. Would complete the build and keep some consistency.

Suggestions: (For aesthetics) Sleeved cables(red) and red LED's. It would look fantastic! :D

Great build! +1

Already got my eye on both, led's are the priority over cable sleeving.

Nice! Silverstone sells some pretty nice cable extensions on Amazon when that time comes around. I'm planning on getting a few of them myself.

Yea didn't think it would bother me as much as it does, considering adding an nzxt after market plate soon, along with an LED strip that changes colors.
