Description

Primarily used for gaming. Originally had a Corsair H80 Liquid Cooler, but after 3-4 years of the 8350's heat it has died and I have been forced to settle for the stock cooler until I can replace it.

AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core: Pros - Cheap, Very Effective Multitasking Cons - Runs as hot as the devil taking a bath in a volcano, Most games are not optimized to run well with this chip. 7/10 Would fry an egg again.

Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 ATX AM3+: Pros - Amazing tools to easily overclock, manage, and monitor all settings in BIOS and with the utility on desktop, USB Flash Update, Direct Key, Reliable(Almost 4 years of non stop abuse and still running strong). Cons - Some minor bugs with the desktop app, potential heat issues with VCORE-1. 9/10 Would test out that military grade shock resistance by dropping it down a flight of stairs again.

Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3-1600: Pros - Reliable, still running after almost 4 years. Cons - None. 10/10 Would never have to buy RAM again, again....

Samsung 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5": Pros - Reliable, still running after almost 4 years. Cons - None. 10/10

Thermaltake Chaser MK-I ATX Full Tower Case: Pros - Space, "Tool-less" mostly, Plenty of expansion. Cons - Pre wired fans and LED's can be an issue to move around, Top USB/Audio Ports finicky. 7/10 Would think my headphones are broken because of the front ports horrible wiring again.

Corsair CX 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply: Pros - Reliable, still running after almost 4 years, Modular easy to get exactly what you need and no more. Cons - None. 10/10

Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer: Pros - Reliable, still running after almost 4 years. Cons - None. 10/10 Would no longer use DVD's again.

Corsair Air Series SP120 High Performance Edition: If you didn't guess already these are the reason my build is called "The Vacuum Cleaner." Will cool your case real good, as well as suck dust, hair, paper, food, paper clips, your cat, and pretty much everything into your case. Luckily the above mentioned case is equipped with excellent dust filters to stop your cat from being shredded into your CPU. 10/10 - Best cooling 120mm fans I have ever used, If you can handle the Jet Spooling up next to you.

Thermaltake Pure 20 LED 129.6 CFM 200mm Fan: Meh... 5/10

And with that, I give you THE VACUUM CLEANER. So your PC never needs to be water cooled, and you never have to dust. :)

Chuckled at descriptions +1. How high have you overclocked the 8350? Voltage?

I hit 4.6GHz when I first put this build together, back when I had horrible airflow and couldn't go much higher. I did not record the voltage I was at. When I get the stock fan replaced I will be overclocking again and I'll see what I can hit.

Unfortunately I built this roughly 2 years ago and I don't remember what the prices where on most of it, I will try to update it as much as I can.

One question, what will you put mass storage on, like games videos and pictures? I like the AC fan in the picture. Great build.

I have a 1TB and 3TB Barracuda but my wife is using them at the moment so I will probably pick up another TB drive.

I gotta say... This build really sucks... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

See what I did there? :P

Jokes aside, an awesome build. I especially love the case and monitor. +1 :)

Thank you, I got two of those monitors on sale from newegg when they were half off, would have been $1000.

Someday, probably...AMD will stop making CPUs that rival the Wendelstein 7-X's core temperature.
