Budget build for storage and light gaming (most games 2002-2008). Future upgrades are most likely: SSD drive for OS, second stick of memory, 3TB internal SATA drive, mid level GPU.
I see your using it mostly as a machine for extra storage but it would make a nice little media HTPC. great for watching movies and playing old school games :)
Welp. Its a great price, and there's plenty of room to upgrade, my friend uses that wd green as his only hdd. It'll teach you patience.
eh. i never got an ssd before and probably he didn't too yet so not really.
Man, UT and Loadout look so much better with the 610 now. Not perfect, but miles better than the ATI 3000. Should tide me over for a while.
cool. nice cheap build. http://pcpartpicker.com/b/YhPscf thats my cheap build. around same price. +1
upgrade ur grahics card. get a r7 250
Cool build with room to upgrade imo. My current build will also be for past generation games. And +1
If you're aiming for light gaming and storage, I recommend two 1TB Hard Drives @ 7200 RPM (6Gb/s) for all your files, and a 128GB SSD for your operating system.
Also, a nice tip, you could have gotten better RAM, always get two or more sticks, so it runs faster. DDR3-1600 isn't too fast, look into G.Skill models.
gt 610 ? gaming ? just no
in the description he stated that its used for light gaming and he built it for $290 buck so it seems good enough for that budget.
well mine is http://pcpartpicker.com/b/YhPscf and that probably can have light gaming. Like i don't know if you play but i play this game called Shadowgun Deadzone and it works fine. also he has a lot of $0 so i don't think that he actually only spent 290
the internal vga is more powerful
I can't even run original UT using the onboard graphics without using software rendering, so I can't imagine it being any worse with the 610. For $25, it's worth a shot. Should be coming in the mail today, so I'll update.
Surprisingly though, I can run Loadout with the onboard graphics; it just looks like it was made in 1999.
I had bought one for the first system I had ever built. It will handle everything he wants to do just fine.
I trashed that entire system and built a new one with a GTX 780 so... I don't know what to tell you xD.
