So I'm brand new to the PC gaming world, have been a console gamer forever. My younger cousin is really into computers and convinced me I need to try PC gaming. Needless to say I've fallen in love with it and decided to build my own mid range PC. With a lot of guidance I picked an MSI 970 gaming board with matching MSI R7 370 4GB GPU. Six core AMD processor. As for the case i wanted to stick with a green and black scheme as green is my favorite color, and the DIYPC case has tons of room everywhere including behind the motherboard tray which made cable management a breeze. The case also came with 7 fans (4 green LED, 3 green non LED) with fan controller so it stays rather cool under load, and the fans are relatively quiet even on high settings which is sweet.
Initially just bought the SSHD and while tearing down an old computer that i'd forgotten about, found the older 320GB HDD so i threw that in as well. The SSHD is a cool combination of old and new technology and allows me to have a 23 second start to desktop time which is slick.
As far as peripherals I bought a Razer mouse and mechanical keyboard which i really enjoy. Am looking at buying some GoGroove Basspulse green LED speaker/woofer to keep with the green theme.
Performance thus far has been great and am able to handle Far Cry 3 on high settings at about 60fps, which is freaking awesome. I only have 2 27 inch monitors but plan to buy another to make for a real immersive setup. Its got potential to be even better when i get confident enough to dabble with overclocking.
All in all it was a very fun build and was a great introduction to the world of PC gaming,
