Description

So, what happens when a lifelong console peasant decides to build a gaming PC? His world-view is turned on its head!

A good couple of hours of my day yesterday were spent putting this thing together, and it was actually leagues easier than I thought it would be.If you had told me in 2013 that you could build a PC for the same price as a console and have it absolutely stomp it, PLUS not have to pay $60 a year to play with my friends, I would have saved myself a whole lot of trouble (and money).

I would have never imagined how satisfying and rewarding it was to hit that power button and have it boot the first time with no issues. I must have danced for a good three hours straight after setting up the OS.

What do you guys think for a first build? Let me know! I'm leaving my console days behind, and I need some friends on Steam.

Pentium G4560 and GTX 1050 Ti is the best budget combo. The other parts are all solid choices. Perfect budget build!

Model example of a budget build, well done!

kevincr22 3 points 29 days ago

You need to organize and manage those cables, the rest congratulations good purchase

numba1stunna 3 points 28 days ago

Congrats! I did the same build with the G4560 and 1050 Ti. It only lasted about a month because I wanted mo powwa!

Great job. With that big window, tidy up your cables and show it off.

Thumbs up.

bcreek2390 submitter 1 Build 3 points 28 days ago

For sure, man! I'm sure in a few days I'll want to fiddle with it to make it look purdy.

Gooberdad 7 Builds 3 points 28 days ago

Enjoy it. But watch out. The "builder's bug" will make you want to do more complete PCs.

WeisslyChE3ze 2 points 29 days ago

are you able to hook up an hdmi to it so I could use this build on my t.v.?

gugu96 18 Builds 4 points 29 days ago

While the Pentium is good I would have paid just a bit more for an i3 6100.

Nevertheless you did a good build.

bcreek2390 submitter 1 Build 1 point 28 days ago

Noted.

Very nice budget PC that packs a punch. I would have thought you would need more than 250gb to be playing games and building a steam library, but whatever works for you. Also, I did my build with a Pentium G4400 and a GTX 750 2gb to leave my console days behind, and it's still chugging along perfectly. It plays all the games I want, which are simple to play like CS:GO, Warframe, and Overwatch.

Welcome to the PC Master Race!

Cheers!

bcreek2390 submitter 1 Build 1 point 27 days ago

Yeah, I think I'm gonna get a HDD closer to Christmas, but for now there are only a few games that I want to play (Overwatch, New Vegas, Dirty Bomb, etc.)

Side note, what's your steam name? I need friends, haha.

How is the rosewill case?

bcreek2390 submitter 1 Build 2 points 28 days ago

I'd definitely recommend it. It's got loads of space for cable management and potential upgrades. Hosts any size of motherboard and assembly was a breeze.

curranvince 1 point 29 days ago

Benchmarks w/ FPS in games you play?

drewrentz 3 points 29 days ago

there are dozens of benchmark videos of this build on youtube

bcreek2390 submitter 1 Build 2 points 28 days ago

Well, I only have a 60hz monitor at the moment, but so far all of the games I've played haven't dipped under 60 fps. I can run New Vegas on maxed settings and stay at a constant 60, but it is New Vegas, after all.

2tweevey 1 point 29 days ago

Can this play GTA V at 60 fps?

bcreek2390 submitter 1 Build 1 point 28 days ago

I would assume so, but I don't own GTA V on PC.

What's your steam name?

Also, awesome build. I'm planning to build a pc just above the price of this one in the next couple of weeks.

bcreek2390 submitter 1 Build 2 points 28 days ago

Nice! Steam name is CaptCreek

Nice choice on that PSU, wish I had made as many smart choices on my build! Awesome Job! Did you use a bunch of resources leading up to the build?

bcreek2390 submitter 1 Build 2 points 28 days ago

I watched a crap-ton of Youtube videos, if that's what you mean, haha. I wanted to learn all I could before jumping in.

ssjg5rlly 1 point 26 days ago

Yay! No spaghetti monster!

surefir3 -2 points 29 days ago

GG no reee, rosewill case build quality, could have gotten a matx coolmaster mastercase lite 3.1 for the same price

surefir3 1 point 29 days ago

Other then that, it's the spitting image of a great budget build

bcreek2390 submitter 1 Build 1 point 28 days ago

I like it so far. Not disappointed with it, but I'll give that other case a look.

surefir3 2 points 28 days ago

Eh, don't bother... if you like it that's what matters
