Description

This is a small update to my current build. I purchased a new "gaming" desk as well as lighting to go with it. I purchased the Logitech G633 headset as well, I know they are wired and it's no issue for me, I am very happy with them. I also purchased a full acrylic side panel, which I think looks so much better than the original. You can see how the lighting gets washed out into the factory side panel window in the last picture, it's ugly and needed to go. Also tried to do a little management in the basement, the cables were all over the place. I have been trying to find the PSU cable combs for the GPUs and 24 pin to make that neater, all the ones I have found are too big and my cables are small, 1/16 thick maybe 1/8. If anyone knows where I can find some, please help! Let me know what you think of the update.

What's wrong with your RAM? It doesn't look like it's shoved in the slot all the way.

is it just me or is the ram not put in all the way?

I'd like to see some details on that custom painted mobo, without LEDs and stuff.

I added an image of it close up. I'm not sure if that's what you wanted. If it doesn't show up, please let me know.

nice build! but it looks like you're not using your ram effectively from the pictures. 2 of the dimms look like they are not fully seated

the dimms are fully seated. the covers tend to slide off for no reason. i have repeatedly put them back up correctly, but they just slowly slide off again. it's annoying

Thanks! I am slowly collecting as many consoles as I can, eventually I need a bigger stand. I have 7 right now and all run perfectly on a LG 32"

A friend of mine wishes to do lighting on his desk very much like you have done, except he wants to have it go underneath the desk as well. What did you use for the lighting and how did you keep them on the edge of the desk without falling off?

I used these. They have 3M tape holding them to the sides of the glass on the desk. I thought about facing them downward but I wanted the lighting to go up the wall behind everything as well.

For cable combs, I would check with cable mod, as they usually have what I need for my PCs'. But I love the purple LEDs' and the Acryllic +1 !!

I know I sound like a broken record but still. Why did you go for 980ti over 1080 you will get so much better performance

I purchased these 980tis in Jan 2016 not knowing/thinking about anything new from nVidia. If I did, I would have waited for dual 1080s from EVGA. These 980ti perform beautifully at 4K 60hz. FPS stays 57-60 on high settings on most games that I play which is perfect for me. Rise of Tomb Raider and Witcher 3 run 35-45 FPS.

Yes, it's a Monoprice 4K. I will have to take a look at what CableMod has. I have had those cables for 2 years now.

Taking a look at the final picture, your cables look about the same size as mine. Take a peek at these.

E22 Small Cable Combs

They've got smaller slots, which might fit your EVGA cables better. Just be warned; they are very brittle. I broke one of my 24 pin combs just from trying to slide it along the cable. Don't plan on using these on any bends, and be gentle.

That being said, they look damn good, and I think the black would look really slick on your build.

Let me know if you have any questions! Good luck!

Thanks, the purple is my favorite. It also fits the best with the white LED on the GPUs.
