Description

So I have had to upgrade my system because Asus would not fix my motherboard. I have had 4 RMA's with my Asus Rog Strix X99, due to it not be stable, random shutdowns, no overclocking, Everytime I sent one in, I would receive the same one untouched, or one in worse condition. They never fixed it, so they gave a New In Box Rog Maximus X Code Z370, and I purchased a 8700k to use with it. I would highly recommend NOT to but ASUS, their is no customer service their!

Since I have upgraded the build, I have built myself a desk that used to be a farm style dining table. Changed some stuff on it, and did some RGB Lighting on it, but usually keep it Orange to match!

Part Reviews

CPU

Very Fast, and it actually is very cold when its at 4.7ghz on all cores!

CPU Cooler

Its a little hard to refill completely, and i had to get mayhem orange dye because I the colors it came with didn't help

Motherboard

Don't go with Asus, because if you have problems, they can't help you, their service is the worst out of the bunch, go gigabyte or msi, at least they will stand behind their product! I only got this motherboard because they couldn't fix my X99 Strix Gaming Motherboard, After 3 RMA's!!!

Memory

Found them on Ebay for a little less. 3200mhz is nice to have for it to last a good 3-4 years

Storage

Its read and write speeds are fast and I can boot into windows in about 10 secs!

Video Card

I Love Orange the the Gigabyte Xtreme Card was perfect for me, arguably the fastest and best cooled card out there, I have no problems with it.

Case

I love the aesthetics of this case, but for a 360mm rad it can only go on the top but for mine i had to take out 3 hdd trays which is fine, but be warned its not as big as it looks.

Power Supply

850 Watts of Gold fully modular power for less then $100!

Keyboard

A cool rgb keyboard thats from a great reliable brand

Mouse

I got as a gift for my Birthday, but love the buttons for my thumb!

Well the upgrade wasn't expensive, because Asus gave me their highest grade Z370 motherboard. I had to ship Intel my processor for a new one because the board fried mine, so was able to sell my processor as New. Plus the I7 8700k was cheaper and is faster for everything!

how is the case's cooling? I am going to put together a build with this case that will be $3700 and I need to know.

So since I have 360mm rad in the top it can make the case a little warm, but with the fans it came with its doing very good to keep the case cool inside, I would recommend this case, especially for the aesthetics of the orange color.

P.S. The LED's on the case are custom and don't come with the case.

Hey there great build!

Was just wondering if you've had any troubles with your Asus X99 Strix board? I've read a tonne of terrible reviews including fried CPUs, dead ram slots, Q Code 00 and just a bunch of RMA's.

Cheers! :)

Sorry for not getting back to you right away. I had a cpu skew on mine i sent it to Asus they fixed it, I updated the bios to the latest and am and its working great, Windows 10 on the other hand is making my usb's not work with the 3.0 speeds are on, i have to make all the usbs work at a 2.0 speeds to do anything, now i think that can be fixed with a completely clean install, as i have built another one with the same motherboard

also you just need to make sure you keep your bios up to date and it will not burn your cpu
