Description

So this is my very first gaming PC. Being a console gamer for a while I started to get very annoyed by the constant frame rate drops, and overall just low frame rates. After doing some digging around and gaming on my friends custom built PC with a 980ti I realized that PC really is the master race. Originally I had planned on spending $1500 MAX on both the PC and the montor + peripherals. However with the release of the GTX 1080 I knew I just had to have it. Anyway, long story short my build ended up costing me a total of around 3k if not a bit more but for simplicity sake lets just leave it at 3k.

I know I my monitor doesnt match what is listed and that is because I returned my ROG swift and exchanged it for the Acer Predator 27 inch 1440p 144hz monitor. The problem is that pcpartpicker doesnt have that monitor listed so i just left the ROG swift because it is the same price as the predator. Also, my graphics card ended up costing me $770 and the CPU cooler was around 35 dollars so that a total of an additional 800 to the grand total. I do also plan on custom wrapping the legs of the monitor white in order to match the black and white theme with led purple accents.

Regarding gaming this thing is an absolute monster. I dont think I can ever play another console again. I run Skyrim and Witcher at ultra settings and get a steady 80 fps which is flipping amazing compared to the garbage sub 60fps on consoles. I also have a 60hz monitor for the family PC we have that we bought from a store that ive been using and just WOW!!! 144hz make a damn difference. I honestly dont think ill be able to play on a lower refresh rate PC this is just an orgasm for the eyes XD.

Man I have to stop looking at these $2000+ builds...makes me cry! Absolute beauty! I love the purple!

The i7 is great, the mobo...did you have problems with that? I just RMA'd my ASUS Z97E, garbage. Love the RAM choice, not sure about the ASUS graphics card...but that's because of my recent experience with ASUS.

This will be similar to my build once my wife lets me in about 2-3 years.

I need an upgrade for my monitor, but I don't think I can drop that kind of $ for one like yours. But good on you. Very cool build, happy gaming!

Its been a couple weeks and 0 issues with the mobo so far and the graphics card has been running flawlessly. I have it overclocked and this thing barely gets hot. I get sub 70 degrees under full load on Witcher 3 running ultra setting. Regarding the monitor its a gorgeous piece of tech. Looks amazing and runs so beautifully but im still shocked that I actually paid that much for a monitor. But u know what they say. Go big or go home right (at least thats what I tell myself to make it a bit easier to sleep at night lmao).

Thank you for your kind words and I hope youll be able to build one much better than what I have. Take care!!

How do like the headphones I've been looking and I was wondering how these were

Ive had them for around a week or 2 and so far they have been fantastic. The quality is very good for the build, the sound and the mic so if you are planning on buying one I would recommend it for sure.

New to pc gaming, why did you get a 850w psu when your total watt usage was like 380? Could you explain to me?

awesome build!

if i could give some advice,

try the inclusion of these, i've just ordered the set and hoping it would tidy the rig up a bit!

also, how comes you've not made use of the top 3 fan ports???

The case has a fan controller that all the fans are hooked up to in the back so I dont have any of the fans plugged into the motherboard just the fan controller. And regarding the sleeved cables, I do plan on buying some from cablemod in order to match the white and black look and clean up the case a bit but Im waiting until i get case lighting so I can work on both the lighting and the cables together just so save the hassle. But thank you for the advice!!

I mean fan slots, the three at the top (usually where a Rad sits or something)

I myself have the same case and am looking to do similar to yourself with the lighting, thinking of getting the HUE+

keep up the good work, and ill be sure to keep an eye when you make any additions!

Ohhh i see what you mean. A friend of mine actually recommended adding fans to the top too I just havent done it yet. Im not too worried about cooling cuz i get cool temps under full load but i will for sure look into some extra fans to add on top. Thanks for pointing that out I completely forgot about it.

+1, nb. You have the wrong monitor listed, though. This is what you have: Acer Predator

I actually stated why I have the ROG listed in the description. I used to have the ROG but i replaced it with the predator but I couldnt find the predator as being listed in the PC parts on this website so I left the ROG instead because its the same price to give a better idea of how much it all costs.

I wouldnt really know how good the PG297Q is because I returned it before I can even use it because I read so many negative reviews on it that I decided to play it safe and exchange for the predator.
