Description

Phone does not want to let me take the pictures off of it so I will post when I can.

This is my first build I finished it a last week, runs amazingly couldn't be happier.

Things I would have changed; Case with better cable management (Love this case, would recommend it, I just feel like I could have done more with a different case). 8GB of RAM, I do not think anytime in the near future I will need 16GB of RAM, was on sale when I grabbed it. No optical drive, dont ever think I will use one (haven't used a CD or DVD in years). This could have gone either way, instead of the 760 SLI just a single 770 or 780 and SLI later down the road, but I do like that I got experience using SLI. Do not regret getting the two 760s.

Overall love this computer, I will be water cooling, I have it OC to 4.5 on the stock cooler and it still runs nicely.

Final price is $1805.51 after tax.

Part selection is very nice. Love the CPU/MOBO combo! Can't wait to see some pics with lovely cable management, right? :D

I'd be happy to help, you can even send me some pictures before you post them here so I can help make it look presentable.

Is it $300 more than the pcpartpicker price b/c of the watercooling? Also I like this build. also get pics up asap or else people will post and be like no pics = didnt happen.

It is because of tax. And he hasn't water-cooled yet. it would be cool if he did a custom loop.

I would LOVE to do a custom loop, but I don't think I trust myself quite yet. :p maybe later on in the year, for now I am going to get either the h100i or kraken x60 and mod the case with a few L brakets and set it on top.

How are you liking the gtx 760 SLI? I have been looking at upgrading my HD 7850 for a while to either a 770 or 760 SLI but for some reason I'm still able to max out every game above 60 fps at 1200p with the 7850 (OC Past 7870 Specs). So I almost feel like upgrading might be a waste.

I love it!

Once I am back at school I will be running two monitors (tried it out last weekend) and I had no issue running HD movie and playing a game at the same time (which I did with my last computer).

If you do decide to upgrade I would suggest getting the 770 or 780 and later on go down the SLI road and pick up another one of whichever you get.

Nice!! Yeah might be looking at the 770 instead. I feel like the 760 might be a little hop/skip from my 7850.

Why not crossfire your 7850?

I thought about it but all I hear are complaints about AMD drivers and especially HD 7000 Series. Unless someone tells me else ill totally CF the 7850.

I have heard the same, was wondering if there was another reason.

High-five for no optical drive! My new build is the same (installed Windows from USB, downloaded all games from Steam/Origin, etc)

I bought one for no reason because that is exactly what I did. =\

well you'll have it just in case you find an old game on CD from 10 years ago :P

How did you manage that high of an overclock with just the stock cooler? What are temps like? What are your bios settings?

ive got same board and cpu, hence the questions

Probably the air flow, I had it up yo 70 degrees running bl2, bf3 and one of my other games all at the same time, just on the start screen.

I don't go over 60 degrees playing a game, and my room is really cool for the most part.

ah okay, so you dont have that great temps. CPU should never go above 60C.

with all 8 cores loaded 100% on mine, i see 55C. Though i am using the evo

Part choice is good and although your cable management could do with some work I don't think it's that bad. Nice build.

you know, a gtx 760 sli preforms better than a gtx 780.

Yes, but if I were to get a 780 instead, I would SLI later down the road

why? How long is "later down the road"2-3 years? the point I am trying to make is by the time you want to sli them it will probably be cheaper to go with the better card series. If you were to do it in the next year or so and plan on using them for 4+ years, go right ahead. I am getting a build very similar to yours, fx 8350,2 gtx 760, but to each his own. I want the best bang for my buck right now and the sli 760 offers that. (as opposed to a single 780.) I am sorry if I am all over the wall, not the best at conversations over the internet.
